While I'm not quite as high on Beachum as a lot of people, (I'll admit, he has gotten better as the season goes along), I believe LT is no longer a need position. I'm fine with him holding down the spot. RT, LG and RG or Center, (depending on if we keep Linder in his current spot or move him back to OG) are my main concerns on the O-Line. I would like to also add a swing tackle to the mix as well, since we have no depth behind Beachum if he were to get injured. Maybe someone like Dion Dawkins of Temple in the middle rounds. As for RT, I'd like Taylor Moton of Western Michigan and I'd try to add Dan Feeney of Indiana and Pat Elflein of Ohio State for the OG positions. All of these guys are much better run blockers than what we have now.

I know that just makes you all giddy inside MissDonksFanatic.
You know I could see our oline playing well overall against the Broncos.  All in all they have been a solid unit this year.  A bright spot in a sea of dispair.

The offensive line in general this year has played much better in the passing game. We've surrendered 23 sacks so far this year through 11 games. Compared to the 51 they gave up in 2015 and 55 they gave up in 2014. They're certainly getting better. They just need to tighten up on the penalties and improve a bit more in the run blocking department. We still have a mix bag this year playing between Linder being bounced between Center and Guard. Beachum being new to the team. Reed and Cann being moved in and out. Really, the only weak link has been Parnell on the right side this season. He seems to have been beat more than anyone or called the most for holding or false starts.

A bright spot? They can't run block for crap!

We are dead average in yards per carry,  so either the oline is blocking decently or the oline blocks for crap and running backs are running excellently to make that average ypc.

If it's the running backs running excellently then that kinda kills your begging for Foreman.

So that must mean the oline is run blocking ok.

The more carries our running backs get, the average goes down. We just completely abandon the running game when this begins to happen, so the stats look "average" even though if we continued, they would sink like a stone. Either our RB's wear down or the O-Line does. They both need replaced.

Nah it's because Blake can't keep drives alive so we don't get to bulk up carries.

Uh, what? Have you seen Denver's defensive line and linebackers play this season? Have you seen Jacksonville's run blocking this season?

We can agree to disagree.
as far as run blocking we also had a bunch of badly called games that either ran stupid run plays or abandoned the run extremely early.

If we had enough talent to execute those plays you would say they are good calls.

I'm usually not a playcall guy but there's been a pretty stark contrast in the way the run game has looked since Hackett took over.

It would be nice to see the offense with two healthy backs and Bortles playing adequately.

We also need a real FB. It starts with the HC installing a scheme that fits our personnel and tweaking it when some bad plays don't work.

This is mostly true. I'm willing to bet without looking our rush attempts are well below 20 per game. I think quite a few games had a dozen or less attempts

There are plenty of teams that don't have a true FB.

Although, I'm in favor of having one these days. Kuhn, Ripkowski, these kinda guys make plays.

Even worse is some of those carries in the dozen or less games was Bortles running the ball.

I'm of the belief that FB is a dead position unless you have a Greg Jones type of guy, which their aren't a whole lot of.  A FB isn't going to help, what will help is our RBs not getting hit in the backfield constantly.  This team needs a better LG and RT and Cann needs to play better.

A fullback's primary job is run blocking. That is something our offensive line can't do.

22 Rushing attempts per game when you include the QBs

18.7 Rushing attempts per game by "design"

Being behind and the way we play the attempts are down.  The offense has been poor.
As someone who lives in Steeler Country... there's nothing surprising at all about how well Beechum has been playing. He's a solid LT. Pittsburgh had to choose which LT to sign and being that he was injured, we lucked out.
