Bortles has been the best player IN JACKSONVILLE the past 5 weeks of the season. 11 TD- 4 INT and a 89 QB rating. Who else has stepped up the past 5 weeks?
2 pick sixes, overthrew at least 3 wide open WRs for TDs, and 3 of those 11 TDs were absolute trash time in Tennessee.

How come Blake can't score in the 1st quarter or 1st half of games?
Quote:How come Blake can't score in the 1st quarter or 1st half of games?
Because of #27 ranked defense. Duh!
Quote:How come Blake can't score in the 1st quarter or 1st half of games?
Simple. The play calling has been VERY conservative and the defense still can't stop anyone from scoring after Year #4 of Gus. When's the last time you've seen a 40-50 yard bomb called on the first drive? Jags lead the NFL in 3rd and LONGs because the OC spent most of the year running on 2nd and 10 EVERY TIME.
Everytime Blake is allowed to open up the offense in shotgun and sling it around, it produces points. Why haven't we opened the game this way? The coaching staff is inept.

During this season some of it has been him making poor decisions, some of it has been poor coaching and gameplanning, and some of it has been passes bouncing off receivers stomachs into defenders hands.
Anyone watching the Jaguars for the last few years under Bradley should understand by now that coaching and game planning has been the team's biggest problem for years.
It's not coincidence that once the game plan has had to be abandoned this year the production has gone up. The Jaguars wasted way too much time trying to fit round pegs into square holes.

1st half points given up by the defense in the last 4 games (did last 4 games since you continue to only talk about Blakes last 5 games)
10 Chiefs
9 Lions
14 Texans
7 Bills
And is Blake lighting it up in any of these games in the 1st half? No. He's not taking advantage of the opportunities the defense gives him.

You're cherry picking again. So because the Jaguars have given up the MOST defense points in the NFL in the 2nd half of games, it's the offense's fault? Wrong....... More than anything it shows that Pus Bradley is the worst IN GAME coach in NFL history. He can't make 2nd half adjustments because he's busy clapping. How does Tyrod Taylor score 22 points in the 2nd half of the game? That's pathetic.....the guy can barely throw for 180 yards per game.
lol...spacecoast saying somebody is cherry picking. Really?

I don't disagree with any of that and I think a lot of people agree.
The problem is that one poster on this board seems to think nothing this season is Blakes fault. Which is wrong.

Maybe. Personally I have a hard time assigning fault to any specific player. Bortles regressed since year two, I think that much is clear, but really the team overall hasn't been coached up overall since Bradley's been here, and that's the biggest problem. I see Bortles right now as a lot like Matt Stafford of a couple of years ago.
Suddenly Matt has a good OC and instead of consistently losing against his division rivals they're winning every close game.
Bortles has problems, but it's also clear he's not some backup level player, he's got legitimate franchise QB qualities. The Jaguars need legitimate coaching to go with it.

I didn't say that. I just said a 20 TD-13 INT and 2.9% INT rate isn't bad.

Actually, you've said it multiple times that you don't blame Blake for anything thats gone wrong this season. You said "He's doing exactly what a 24 year old QB would do on a bad team."
Which isn't true. Tampa Bay is doing quite well with no running game and a defense giving up 24 a game.
No one is disagreeing that the coaching staff is beyond inept. They're awful and will be fired. But to assign no blame to Blake is absurd. He hasn't played very well in the 1st half of games which leads to the Jags consistently playing from behind. Some of that is gameplanning and some of that is him being inaccurate on 3rd down.

You're joking right? Do you just make things up before you type? Tampa has the #16 running game in the NFL with Doug Martin who's been hurt half the year. They got him back and Jameis has blown up.
The Jags don't have the #16 running game.....they are #24 even with Yeldon and Ivory.
Also, Dirk Koetter is 10x better coach than Pus Bradley.
Quit making things up. Tampa's running game is MUCH better than Jags. You think TJ Yeldon is as good as Doug Martin?

Because that's what I said? Martin is much better than Yeldon.
Tampa is averaging 10 more rushing yards than the Jags do. Thats not some crazy amount there dude. In fact, Tampa averages less yards per attempt than the Jags do.
You just refuse to see anything but your own "facts."
Any more brain busters? Anything to say about Blake not being blamed for anything this season?

Whoa whoa whoa where is this fact being made up from? I'll show you my not completely made up facts:
Had to sort by each conference cause they only showed top 20.

Blake has 42 attempts of 3rd and 8+. There are 20 QBs who have attempted more than 42 passes on 3rd and 8+. The problem is Blake has only completed 6 of them, dead last.
6 out of 42!
I think we found our problem.

#16 running game is vastly better than #24. The Jags are last in nearly EVERY category in the NFL besides TD passes. lol

What about the fact that the Jags have a better YPA?

It's definitely a problem. Also, Allen Robinson has turned into a possession WR. He gets ZERO separation.
The Jags best WR in the long run may be Marquise Lee. He knows how to separate.
I think Allen Robinson's down season has hurt the Jags offense more than any single player. Julius Thomas is also a 100% bust. He needs to go in the offseason and replace with a consistent player.
