Quote:Interesting given last week's developments.....
another team that I'll bet Caldwell never managed to contact to try and build up a market for Monroe....
I'm not sure what the Dolphins opinion of Eugene Monroe is. I'll say this though. On the surface, if I was in the Dolphins position, giving up more than the Ravens gave the Jaguars for Monroe would be VERY tempting. It remains to be seen if Jonathan Martin will ever be a solution at LT.
Quote:See, I might buy this if this were pre-injury MJD.
But he hasn't been close to the same guy he was last year.
If any team is interested in him, they will wait for him to hit free agency-and probably wait to sign him late in the process.
...if you listen to the Rams players, per that other thread on the Jags main forum, they seem to think he just isn't running hard. Given the previous contract disagreements with the team, it might be more of a spite issue than a talent issue.

Even if that's the case, which I'm not claiming it is, how could another team trust a player who isn't giving his best?
So I take it you'd be okay if in 2015 the Jags with Bridgewater under center are looking competitive, but lacking a running game they trade their unproven but young RB for an aging RB that hasn't been producing (but other players on other teams think he's not giving it his all!) that is in the last year of his contract?
Quote:You don't make the kind of free agent acquisitions that Miami made in the offseason without being in "win now" mode...
Anyone can look at Miami and tell they arent going to "win now"...they dont have the talent.

Hahaha, no way....if the Jags did that Caldwell would suck.

Caldwell is starting to look more and more over his head with every move/ decision/ statement that comes out of his mouth
I am starting to agree with this. I am going to hold out until next season. If this team doesn't have a good QB with a good DE, then I think Caldwell is in over his head.

Yeah, thats my thinking too.
I'm sure Caldwell is worried that TMD thinks he's "over his head". Real worried.
This whole thread is typical TMD - wanting it both ways: I think MJD is now garbage, but I think another team would want him! Yeah, that makes sense! But I'm make a silly thread so someone will pay attention.
I guess he figures no GM would agree with his opinion of MJD and would trade for him.
How strange - I'll post a thread arguing that I don't know what I'm talking about.

The annals of NFL history are filled with GM's that chase "names" even after they are past their prime's....
Quote:"unknown bulldozer"?
What the hell are you talking about?
You don't know anything about the player you are commenting on I am guessing. Not only is he not a "bulldozer" - Daniel Thomas actually would fit that description more aptly than Miller, but Miller is hardly "unknown" to Miami - he's been there 2 years and they've been trying to get him to seize the feature-back role this season, but it hasn't taken hold as of yet. They could be starting to get impatient.
He's not? How is he not a bulldozer? And yes, he is an unknown. He sat on the bench his rookie year, and has only played 5 games this season. That is as close to an unknown as you can get besides from being a rookie.
You can see TMD turn on a GM like clock work. He is praying right now that Caldwell is a failure just so he could say he was right.
Sad sad sad man.

Just typing "I have never seen Lamar Miller play" would have sufficed.

"Praying that Caldwell is a failure?"....Wow, and you claim I'm the sad one????
I'm just paying attention/ taking observations of the job Caldwell is doing. Guess what - the moves he makes are either good or bad, its on him not me. To think I actually would prefer he fails is ridiculous. I'm just as tired of waiting 10+ years for a consistent winner as you are, if not more so, hence me actually having a ticked off tone in my posts. Because I've seen 2 bad GM's precede Caldwell and am starting to see more bad moves by yet another new GM.....Unlike you however, I'll see his moves for exactly as they are and not instead always look to rationalize them to not make them seem so bad.
If Caldwell actually makes moves that turn out to be good, then I'll have nothing to complain about. Its on him, not me.

Your right, but you are the first one to jump on him for what you perceive as bad moves. They got a 4th and 5th round pick for a guy that wasnt coming back next year and you were the first one to jump down his throat that it was the worst move and automatically a bust of a GM.
If he turns this team around and leads them to success you wont be able to come here and gripe (I mean we all know you still will, it will just be on a much smaller scale)...I barely have to even come to this message board anymore to know what you are complaining about. You need to switch it up a little more...its predictable.
I am sure the Dolphins will get right on that. Maybe Caldwell can buy Jeff Ireland dinner before bending him over. Chivalry isn't dead.
