Bradley: "Hey Dave, with Blackmon coming back, we may actually have a shot at winning this week at the lowly Rams."
Caldwell: "You really think so? Ahhh...I have to take care of something, talk to you later."
...4 hours later...
Caldwell: "Hey Gus, I just traded one of the only decent lineman needed to protect the QB in order to get Blackmon the ball. I think we're back on the Teddy track."
The man is a genius.

Quote:Why would you list Fisch? He can't go throw, catch, run, block etc... Until we get better offensive players it is what it is. I've heard our various OC's heads being called for for 5 years now. What's the common denominator? TalentProbably because his play calling is absolutely horrific. I guess your HD tv is having a problem with the braille option.

It was Caldwell who passed on upgrading the interior line. His talent evaluation is sup par to say the least.
Quote:I think TMD created another account so he could agree with himself.Clearly evolution is a fraud considering the cro-magnon and neanderthals that run amok on this board.

Well, Gratz upgraded our secondary. It wasn't as if he was going to fill every hole on this roster in one draft.

CB is higher priority than guards

Quote:CB is higher priority than guardsNot according to Pete Carrol and this so called philosophy that we're emulating.
Also, the two flyers in the seventh would like to disagree.
The value of Warford over Gratz was high. Grats was a fourth round grade while Warford was a second round grade.

If our 'playcalling' is still suspect when we actually get some talent and a QB then Fisch will be on the hotseat. It's doubtful Bradley would assemble an allstar coaching staff in his first season as a HC, I won't be surprised if changes take place

By who?

Did we learn nothing from the Gene Smith era? Look I like Caldwell, but let's not prematurely crown another GM

Quote:The best trade in Jaguar history was when we traded Rob Johnson to Buffalo for the 9th pick in the draft of 1998. Its not even up for debate. My apologies. I should have said "One of the best trades in Jaguar history." I apologize if I may have offended anyone. I will edit it right now.

what was that referring to? Did he mean this Monroe trade??

Quote:NVM, dumb post.It wasn't dumb JWDY, just not the best comparison.
One reason that some folks are quick to question or bash Caldwell is they all had to suffer through the prior GM's mistakes. Many of them tried to be patient and give him time - only to be disappointed.
I think Caldwell will be more successful, but the value he received for Monroe isn't beyond reproach.

Taller than a midget, faster than a snail.
You point is good though. We have had Gene Smith who replaced Harris. Just plain bad moves.
We need a GM that is going to make good picks ( I know...Duh..right?) No reaches. Make solid picks. Too many years of Matt Jones, Gabbert, Achooachoo, etc type picks that are leaving us hollow.
As far as genius....let's see what he does with those picks. If he can trade up and get multiple first / second round picks, then I will feel a little better.
