LAWL nickels and dimes. Also they over rate the LT position.

Actually they thought he was under contract. As you get to the end of the thread they are upset about the "12 game rental"

They love it. I would also if I were them. Monroe is good.

It will be interesting since Ray Rice had no holes and Bryant McKinnie getting worse.

Quote:The LT position is the second most important position on offense IMOThen why did we only get nickels and dimes for trading one? You can't spin this I'm sorry. Outside of the obvious LT like Thomas and Long can you name all the LT of the rest of the NFL teams? Heck can you name any off of last year's playoff teams? I thought not. You just need a solid guy at that position that'll give your QB a couple of seconds more not a world beater. You'll have better success finding the solid guy.
Oh also the LTs you can name are on teams that have had losing records before and after they were drafted by their respective teams.

Another thing. While it's true Monroe is a top 10 OT (probably somewhere between 7-10), the OT talent in the league is very poor as a whole. Meaning being a top OT you don't even have to be an elite player. Growing up in a golden era of OT talent with the Boselli's, Ogden's, Roaf's, Zimmerman's, etc. we're used to the term "top 10 OT" weighing a lot more than it actually does these days. Monroe is not elite, but he is pretty good.

Monroe has regressed since he got here. It may have been he was simply tired of being here, I don't know. However, he was not playing like a top 10 or even 15 tackle this season. He's not been as bad as the interior but he's been struggling far more than he should have been. This is coming from a Monroe supporter
(and I wish him all the success in Baltimore) but he has played below average this season from what I have seen.

Do they understand yet that they are getting a 12 game rental? And then he's a free agent?

Maybe in Imaginationland.

Yes.....now you are getting it.....they should have gotten a 2nd from this deal, and probably another 3rd or 4th....
but Caldwell was fleeced.

Monroe wasn't going to resign with us and did we really want to use the franchise tag? Any value is better than no value. The supplemental picks for losing players isn't as good as what you can get for yourself.
