Bridgewater's ceiling in the NFL is higher than all current NFL QB other than Manning/ Luck.

But what makes him special is the "floor" of Bridgewater is also much higher than any QB of this upcoming draft.

He's as rock solid of a QB prospect as you'll typically find.

Quote:He better be a 30 touchdown 4000 yard passer. Would you tank a season for anything less?

We're not tanking.  We just suck.
I'm just trying to win 8 games here and some of you are already talking about the HOF?

I'll take 6 wins next year.  Maybe just 2 blowouts.

apparently hes the second coming of andrew luck so we better make the playoffs next year.

I hope he isn't the 2nd coming of a guy who hasn't proved himself yet except to be inaccurate.

And apparently Clowney is the second coming of Reggie White, so he better have 20+ sacks.

As pathetic as it is to say in today's NFL... we've never had one of those.  Brunell had 4300 yards once and he and Garrard both had 23 TDs.  It would be nice to see a good passing game for once.
Bridgewater's ceiling? Tom Brady.

Damn, people are extremely high on Bridgewater. I hope he's every bit of he we think he is
Quote:If Caldwell isn't convinced that he's at least at that level then he's not worth the #1 overall pick that the Jaguars look likely to get.

Everyone here seems to think he is, though. I've never seen the guy play so I just take everyone's word for it.

Oklahomie,

The next time Louisville is playing on national television please tune into that game, the first time I heard the name "Teddy Bridgewater" was on a rotoworld report that pegged him as a sleeper for the #1 overall pick in the 2014/2014 NFL draft, that was two years ago. Since then I've made it a point to watch Louisville whenever their games are broadcasted nationally. What stands out about Bridgewater is the elite poise, pocket presence, accuracy, and an advanced understanding of what defenses are trying to do (football IQ). He often manipulates safeties with his eyes, consistently climbs the pocket when there's edge pressure, and has the rare ability (much like Aaron Rodgers) to throw receivers open because of his combination of arm strength and elite accuracy. His ceiling (IMO) is one of an Aaron Rodgers, and Aaron Rodgers wasn't as polished coming out of Cal than Teddy Bridgewater is right now. I truly believe he is 2nd best QB prospect to come out in the last 10-15 years, a once in generation type player, and can singlehandedly change the fortunes of a franchise.

He already looks like an NFL QB. Just his calmness and poise. He is just calm and decisive even when he's scrambling. Even after he gets rocked by a defender he just stands up, gets the play, calls it, and continues.

...and plays well after such hits, where certain QB would be altered off their game. (and no thats not meant strictly as a Gabbert shot, but QB in general)
Man a lot of people on here will be suicidal if we pass on him or don't get that #1 pick.

That said, man do I want this kid on the Jags.

Haha, my phone autocorrects we to WR also. Football talk owns the world.

I know right. Haha
Quote:I'm not debating you guys, but what makes people say he's the second best QB prospect since Peyton Manning? I just haven't heard that before

Its because every year we need a new guy who is the best ever.  Last year Geno was that guy for a lot of folks.  Remember Geno's big day against Baylor last year?  Best prospect of ALL TIME!  This year some have been struck by the Teddy bug.

If you remember this time last year the Teddy train was just starting to leave the station.... dont think he started gaining real momentum until after the FIU and Southern Miss games late in Sept.  He didnt play well in those games but the train picked up steam once the middle of October rolled arond.  Who will be next years guy that is starting to leave the station right now?  Kevin Hogan?  Bryce Petty?  Travis Wilson?  Could be anyone!  But stay tuned because there will be another.  And another.  And another.
