Quote:Its because every year we need a new guy who is the best ever.  Last year Geno was that guy for a lot of folks.  Remember Geno's big day against Baylor last year?  Best prospect of ALL TIME!  This year some have been struck by the Teddy bug.

If you remember this time last year the Teddy train was just starting to leave the station.... dont think he started gaining real momentum until after the FIU and Southern Miss games late in Sept.  He didnt play well in those games but the train picked up steam once the middle of October rolled arond.  Who will be next years guy that is starting to leave the station right now?  Kevin Hogan?  Bryce Petty?  Travis Wilson?  Could be anyone!  But stay tuned because there will be another.  And another.  And another.

Yet all of these draft experts think Teddy is far better than any QB in last years drafts and a lot of them have him rated as their second highest QB prospect of the decade.

Geno was just the best of a terrible QB class. Teddy is far and away the best in a good QB class.

I'm thinking of jumping ahead of everyone and starting a "Robert Nkemidiche is the best Defensive Line prospect of the past decade!" thread.

Hard to play "well" in a downpour.

Andy Dalton/Roethlisberger hybrid.
Quote:Everyone here seems to think he is, though. I've never seen the guy play so I just take everyone's word for it.

Ever heard of youtube? Why not see for yourself?
If you have any doubts about him just watch the kid play. It's that simple

All I ask is that people actually watch the player and not listen to analysis of them. That's any prospect.

Highlights never tell the story.

I'd need to watch him in a competitive game to have a real idea of how good he is.

For now I'll take everyone's word for it that he really is great. If the Jaguars are picking #1 overall and take him I'd be fine with it.

There are cut ups on YouTube that show every passing play not just highlights

He's worthy of the #1 pick... especially for a team that hasnt had consistently good QB play in 15 years.  But best prospect since Manning?  eh....

From a pure football talent, I wonder how much better he is than Geno.  The biggest difference between the two seems to be mental and maturity which are in Teddy's favor.

i laugh whenever i read that here, and it seems that hype is only on this board.  right now i compare him to a clutch tony romo.

Yet you compared Manziel to Fran Tarkenton?

According to the people who do this stuff for a living? Vastly superior.

i didnt even know who tarkenton was, when i saw the highlights i said he played a lot like how manziel plays at a&m now. is the comparison too farfetched or something?

Being superior between the ears is a pretty big deal for a quarterback.

Bridgewater's got much better footwork and pocket presence, too. And he plays in a West Coast offense.

And they thought Ryan Leaf was Peyton's equal
Combination of Peyton's mind and Rodgers' talent

Perfectly stated.

He may have been Peytons equal physically, but never mentally.
