That elephant is Shad Khan. Who was most responsible for keeping Gene Smith and most of the coaching staff after the 2011 season? Shahid Khan. Who more then anyone else in the entire Jaguars organization wanted to bring Tebow to Jacksonville? you guessed it, Shahid Khan. Who had the bright idea of hiring Mularkey even after his unpopular track record in Atlanta? Again, Shad Khan. Who is most responsible for the atrocious performances, bad signings, and losing seasons? From a purely leadership standpoint, it is Shahid Khan.

I'm just going to get this out of the way by saying that in my personal opinion, Khan knows next to nothing about how to run a football organization and probably doesn't even really care that much about Jacksonville or this fanbase in general. The team logo and uniform changes are just quiet steps on the part of Khan towards eventual team reorganization, and relocation. And that recent purchase of Fulham F.C. is just another piece of the puzzle.

I understand that I might get some heat for posting this, but all of you people need to wake up and open your eyes. It's like the 1984 Colts all over again.

It is definitely NOT Shad Khan.

If you knew anything about the feelings that Europeans, and the English specifically, have towards the American connection to the military, you probably wouldn't have bothered to write this post.

I appreciate you doing this though! I do love a good I'm-so-much-more-aware-than-you-sheeple thread!
I don't think there is an elephant in the room.   Unless maybe it's people's need to point fingers and lay blame on Bradley, Caldwell, Fisch and now Khan when the biggest issues are players selected by a GM that Khan has since replaced.

People - the book hasn't been written yet. It's too early too judge it  -  even by its cover.

lol what does him wanting to bring Tebow have to do with anything, when Tebow never came?  Why does Mularkey even have any bearing on this season?

Obvious troll is obvious..

At least I hope so, for your sake.

You are either trolling or have zero knowledge of Tony Khan's job and what it entitles.
I'm sick of people complaining about everything on this board.

We knew this season was going to be long and boring. We knew this team would suck. We know this team will take a few years to even be competitive.

Why is everyone acting like they are blindsided by all of this?

You are blaming Shad Khan for giving Smith one year before firing him? Really?

There was no quick fix, Khan knew that, so we have to suffer this year.  It is what it is.

Yeah, pretty much
I actually feel bad for Mularkey. Looks like keeping us competitive in a few games was actually quite an achievment

Wow to the OP, one of your worst posts ever.

You certainly don't represent the mindset of this message board which is just a small subset of the Jags fanbase, I just hope the broader base doesn't think like you.

As to the guy ripping Tony Khan, it's no big deal that he's using his expertise in analytics in the front office. It's harmless and may actually uncover something useful, who knows. Yeah, I know, nepotism and all that but that's Khan's prerogative as the owner and it goes on everywhere (Bob and Jonathan Kraft?), at least he isn't the offensive coordinator like Kyle Shanahan in DC.

After yesterday's debacle, I'm on board for 0-16. I grew up a Patriots fan and it took them 41 years (while the Red Sox simultaneously were compiling their 86 year drought and the Bruins an almost 40 year run without a Stanley Cup) so this nothing new. At what, 18 years, you're just getting started.

Enjoy it.
What in the heck does a uniform and logo change have to do with relocation?

you're not only off base but waaaaaaaaaaay out in left field.

Khan is not the elephant in the room.  He's not the GM or the coach.   He's has invested heavily in this team.  To the OP....wrong.

He is very willing to spend a ton of money on material objects like stadium upgrades and new uniforms, etc., some stuff that has somewhat of a guaranteed return like increased merchandise, food/beverage sales.

I wonder if the concept of spending millions for one person, either a high-profile player or a coach, is still foreign to him and his people.  That's probably far fetched.

His hands were tied. He almost had to keep Gene because WW just paid the man. He took ownership of the team relatively close to the start of the season. He had to trust what was there and then make adjustments when he could, which he did, in a BIG way after this past season. He, admittedly, didn't know the ins and outs of the business, or football as a game. His options were limited at that time.
