A bit better, yup. A schedule ranked 64 and still playing 4 ranked teams means that level of the remainder of that schedule is absolutely dreadful. I'd have to go back and make sure one of those teams wasn't a HS team.

I'm a huge college basketball fan and this issue comes up a lot. It is widely accepted that playing a schedule of:
Duke
Coppin State
Kansas
UNC-Greensboro
is more difficult than playing
Northwestern
Xavier
Georiga Tech.
Arizona St.
The first set of games, your team is almost guaranteed to come out 2-2, while the last set of 4 games, any loss would be a big upset. The strength of schedule would be fairly similar, though. 4-0 against Duke, Kansas, and two cupcakes is more impressive than 4-0 against 4 average teams. That is why the NCAAB selection committee uses "wins vs RPI Top 25", "wins vs RPI Top 50", and "wins vs RPI Top 100" as a huge tool in selecting teams for the NCAAT.

Maryland wasnt thought to be as good as they are. Our schedule strength probably increased. I doubt that is the case for Louisville. If one team plays 4 tough opponents and the other plays 0, that isn't a close schedule. Like I said, just admit when you are wrong.

The specific question asked was how does UF jump Michigan after beating Ky. Completely different scenario from Florida jumping an idle Michigan team. I will add, I think it sucks when your team loses a spot or two after a bye.

I wouldn't mind losing a spot or two after a bye if you are losing that spot to a team that did something impressive. If two weeks ago, the voters thought Michigan was better than Florida, there should be a reason they change their mind. Michigan didn't do anything to get worse and Florida beat the worst team in the SEC. I don't think that warrants a jump. Neither does the USA Today Coaches poll.

Beating kentucky is like having a bye week. They lost to western kentucky... So the voters back you up, but then they don't when it comes to the Noles... Like I said, just admit when you are wrong.

I know UF didn't have a bye. My point was beating a crappy team isn't in my opinion a reason you should move up unless a team ahead of you lost.

It's not a concrete thing whatsoever. Particular giving the cirumstances with the original question this stems from that this derived from. I disagree with what the rankings are all the time. I am not sure there is a person in America who ever agrees with the whole poll as is from week to week.

I originally said believe what your eyes see. Backing it up several posts later with the voters agreeing with my assessment. The voters was never the basis of the argument. They sure may be wrong voting Fl. higher right now, but based on the play of both teams, I doubt it. You took one statement and ran with it. Either missing, or completely avoiding the posts before.
