List of solid starting mobile QBs in the NFL: Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, Dak Prescott, Mariota, Wilson, Wentz, Cam, Tyrod.

He's putting up historic production for a rookie QB and doing so with an awful Oline.

You call Tyrod Taylor a solid starting QB? You should be tested.
He's better than Blake. He would actually help Fournette a lot with the read option too.
Bortles can't win a game. It should be obvious by now. I didn't say a word for 3 years, but going into this offseason and not addressing this position was a bigger mistake than drafting him and Matt Jones combined because you seen him play for 3 years.

2/3rd's of the QBs in the NFL can't win a game by themselves. Outside of Brady, Rodgers, and Brees, you won't find a QB who can win on their own.

Even mid-tier QBs like Eli, Big Ben (Leveon Bell), Cousins, Cam Newton, etc, etc aren't going to win games BY THEMSELVES.

Only elite QBs can. This is a funny argument
(10-16-2017, 07:23 AM)JagsFansince1995 Wrote: [ -> ]Still garbage time. Don't make excuses for other QBs and dismiss your own.

The "garbage time" argument is nonsense. If the game ends with garbage time, who would you blame for the loser? Probably the QB because that is how people are even if it wasn't all his fault. But as local Jaguars fans saw yesterday, any garbage time there may have been was not the QB's fault at all. You have to look at the whole picture, not just bring up the QB's statistics before and after everyone knew the Rams were going to win.

Derek Carr won games by himself last year if there is such a thing as any QB doing that. The truth is even elite QBs don't win games by themselves. Football is a team sport.

Yeah he's a solid starting QB.

I don't expect you to understand.

Guy averages 204 yards passing per GAME. Not only is he below average, he's one of the worst starters in the league. He's like Garrard; he can only throw ONE pass, the slant. The Bills didn't even want him in the offseason but had no one else.

He's consistently had one of the best deep balls in the league since he became a starter. He's consistently been one of the best at not turning the ball over since he became a starter. He's been one of the best QBs at keeping plays alive and running the ball.

Statistically and play wise he has been at worst "a solid starter". He's much better than Blake.

But again, I don't expect a feeble mind like yourself to understand all of this.

You don't know a lot about quarterbacking, do you?.

Wish you could see what Watson could do for this team but like you our GM doesn't know much about QBs either.  Sad
Did the guy banging the drum for Bortles just talk smack about Tyrod Taylor ability as a QB?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Cam Newton instantly added wins to a team that was bad enough to draft him 1st overall.
Kirk Cousins took a team RGme couldn't move forward with and made them a playoff team.
Big Ben has elevated his team around him ever since he was a Steeler.... he wasn't loaded on talent until most recently on the offensive side of the ball.

Regardless of how you keep trying to throw around excuses for Bortles.... Even with a better run game and a better OL, this team still has to game plan around Bortles to win.
HE WAS A TOP 5 SELECTION!!!!!!

I think you've officially taken the place of JDub as the most DENSE poster on the board spacecoast.

I would love to see this team with just a guy like Taylor.

I think people would be very surprised at how hard we would be to bear with him. This feels like a other wasted year even though we've also improved a ton.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The Bills hired a HC who likes Tyrod Taylor, restructured his contract, and eventually replaced the stupid GM who did not like him. Only one person didn't want him and he was ultimately fired.

I don't get why people are finding it so hard to move on from an awful QB.

Stockholm syndrome I guess. He's a funny guy with a laid-back personality. Not good enough to be a starting QB. Piss poor team building to have him still starting with no plan B.

We just remember the henne/gabbert era. Don't think any of us mind drafting a qb at seasons end.

Honestly,  at this point I believe Blaine would be better than what we have. Between last year and this preseason, he shows the ability to at least be an average starter. That is all we need.
Gabbert couldn't move the chains with MJD, Blackmon and a younger Lewis. Why would he move the chains now?

He's been consistently awful since he came into the league. Much worse than Blake.

Yes hes soooo great that Buffalo publicity keeps looking for his replacement and then drafted Nathan Peterson

You guys are so clueless. Tyrod Taylor is terrible. Their fans are calling for Nathan Peterson already.

Tyrod Taylor is terrible. He won't be their starter next year. He's a backup like Bridgewater
Someone else's mediocre qb is always more popular than your own. It's like the backup qb always being most popular.
