They did play the Patriots tight but I think that was the Chargers best performance of the year and the Pats defense, in my opinion, isn't on the same level as the Jags.

Agree he is a bad HC but he has always been a decent DC. Listening to his and player interviews, he seems to have learned to adjust to player skill sets instead of forcing scheme like here. You have to wonder what kind of wrinkles have been introduced during their bye. With that said, I don't see them having a knowledge of the defense advantage. I'm sure Wash and Hackett have had some conversation to expose the Chargers glorified zone defense.

Gordon leads the 25th ranked rushing attack against the Jag's 27th ranked rushing defense. The Chargers are going to give Gordon the ball early to see if holes still exist. Rivers leads the 12th ranked passing attack against the Jag's 1st ranking passing defense. The Jags are number one ranked in sacks. Rivers has historically ripped through the Jag's defense, but this year is a very different defense than he has faced. I expect the Chargers to feed the ball to Gordon early to see if the addition of Dareus has truly closed the holes.
When the Jags have the ball...
Fournette will return and leads the 1st ranked rushing team again the Charger's 31st rushing defense. Bortles 26th ranked passing attack will try to pick apart the Charger's 8th ranked passing defense. The Chargers are 4th ranked in sacks. The Jags will obviously try to exploit the advantage in the rushing game.

I love it. Yet another team and their fans not watching the film and thinking this is just the same ole jags. This is already shaping up to ba another blowout win and another fan base going in to a “blow it all up” frenzy.
I read their board and more than a few actually understand how hard of a game this will be for the Chargers offense. Only one or two posters were knocking Blake but a lot seem to know this game won't be easy.

I completely agree that our secondary is nothing like it was the last couple of years. Basically no one has lit it up. And with Jack in the middle of the field, Antonio Gates won't be getting open all day. Plus we have a serious pass rush. Unless the Chargers are able to run like crazy I expect us to crush them if Rivers is forced into heroics.
I would love nothing more than to burn the Gus bus team down. (Meaning chargers) and to the one who said I defended him entire time. Absolutely not. I did not want him extended at all.

It makes sense...
Bradley was the guy here while the foundation was laid.
And while Jags fans know he probably held the team back quite a bit during last season, there wasn't much else he could do in the seasons prior.
Whether we want to admit it or not, Bradley had a hand in where we are today as an organization...
And so... yeah, he is now the DC of another team and gets to see the roster he once held actually come to fruition.
None of us would think we'd be 5-3 with Gus here. But outsiders could look on and assume, had Bradley stuck around, maybe he'd be the coach with the suddenly good Jaguars.
Us fans know... but not everyone else does.

We stop the pass rush by running at them. Gotta have a good game from LF/OL.
If we can get an early lead like we have previously, the pass rush will be minimal, imo.
This is going to be a tougher game than last week, honestly, if only because Rivers is much more of a danger than Dalton in some ways. Much more of a savvy veteran who has appeared fond of playing a porous Jags defense and secondary in the past...
But he's not getting that matchup this time around. I actually feel much more confident with Ramsey and Bouye playing. And Church. That's not even to mention the rest of the D, even if they're banged up a bit at the moment. I hope they take this game against the Chargers personally and hit Rivers a TON. Lord knows the Jags need to get over this "Chargers" curse that seems to kill them so often these past years
