Lambo GW 48 yard kick with 2 minutes left in OT to win a sloppy, turnover-filled defensive slugfest. Jags 19-16

The Jaguars haven't been good enough for long enough for us not to worry about games against middle of the league quality teams, but I will say that the texans had also owned the Jaguars for a while before week one of this season, and the Jaguars metaphorically took them back to their apartment and had their way with them for three hours before telling them they have an early meeting and pointing them toward the door.

The chargers aren't very good against the run and they're not a superb running team either. As long as the Jaguars are prepared to stop the run and don't keep fumbling like they have the last few weeks I think they should win.

The Chargers may or may not be very good against the run, but we have 3 starting offensive linemen who are questionable for tomorrow's game.  Parnell, Omameh, and Cann.  I'm not too worried about Cann, since Linder is probably better than he is anyway, and we can leave Shatley at center, but possibly losing really good run blockers like Parnell and Omameh is very worrisome.   We must run the ball to keep their pass rush at home.  If we can't, we are in for a long and difficult afternoon.

By the way, I love the apartment story analogy. That's pretty cute.

I'd say the Bengals defense is at least as good a defense as the chargers, and Fournette is a much better back than Ivory or Yeldon. The Jaguars offense should be able to operate. The defense should be able to cover.

Don't turn the ball over and don't let the chargers have any "free" plays (long runs or bad special teams plays) and the Jaguars should get to 6-3.
If there was ever a game for the defense and running game to feast, this is it!

I'm kind of floored that most sports media outlets don't give the Jags a chance in this matchup. It's the same old narrative of weak against the run and crappy QB play. Are we too deep in our own hype or is this just an example of folks too skittish to believe the hype? I don't believe this is a must win game but I do believe this to be an important statement game at this point in the season. Win this and the train may get full! Of course, I wouldn't be shocked if the pundits stay skittish all the way up until the end of the season.

Bungholes are playing uninsipiring football right now, Ingram & Bosa are playing out their mind. Cant compare the two.

It's great for them that they rush the passer well but can't stop the run, but that's not a good strength/weakness combo to have against the Jaguars.

Thats enough to make Bortles feel uncomfortable and start to turn over the ball. He has always been horrible when he gets pressured, and starts with his duck & high passes that turn into InT.

I guess we'll see if the Jaguars even have to pass it at all.

I think it will be a balanced attack.  Nobody knows Gus D better than Bortles, Marrone, and Hackett.  I think they will game plan to exploit the soft zone coverages

I think this is vastly overlooked.

People continue to talk about how Gus knows Blake and whatever but what about Blake and company knowing Gus? Gus is stubborn so I highly doubt he has changed his defensive philosophy. Marrone Knows first hand what this defense will look like and they are ready to attack.

No matter what either side knows, it’s about execution. Every team knows we wanna run the ball and yet they can’t stop it.

Running the ball only really works if you have the lead. All it takes is for Rivers to make some huge plays down the field for the run game to be non-existence. If you think your winning this game solely running the your in for a huge disapointment.

Yep, the next time I see Gus actually make an adjustment for an opponent will be the first time.

I had Rivers and Winston on my fantasy team.  I just dropped Winston and picked up Bortles, I'm starting Bortles this week
Man if we win tomorrow we're going to the playoffs! Next two games are against the cardinals and Gabbert and then the browns with Kizer. Should be 8-3 with the colts , Texans, 49ers still to play!

Whoa! You mean we can’t call 60 run plays?!

I expect the Jags defense to continue playing lights out. The most points the Chargers have scored all season is 27 against a terrible Giants team. They could only manage 13 against the Pats.

You can go back to the tacks message board though. You’re fairly useless here and bring nothing to the table.

Don’t @ Me

They put 21 against one of the best defenses this year. So your argument is invalid.

Which one of the best defenses would that be?

The same Broncos from last week against the Eagles?

You’re reaching my dude. Keep reaching that hard and you’ll pull a muscle. Not to mention that my point remains the same: they’re highest point total this season is 27.
