10-7 squealers
Thanks !! Go Squealers !!
Laces out Finkle!
I just found out the game is on NBC... THought it was NFL Network only. Tuned in just in time to see the blocked punt.

I mean field goal
Good job Steelers. I just hope Lambo's tendency to kick low doesn't bite us in the butt. He's already had two close calls.

I'm kind of puzzled.  Can't a blocked field goal be returned?
10-7 Steelers......Titans look like the better team. Think they will win.
If Titans win, the Jags control their own destiny to first round bye... and very well may be #1 in conf with the way the schedule works. I rather have that outcome.
Are the Titans this good or are the Steelers this bad?

According to Wiki, "Occasionally, the defense will succeed in blocking a field goal. If a blocked field goal is in or behind the neutral zone, it is treated like a fumble and can be advanced by either team. Beyond the neutral zone, a blocked kick is treated like a punt and can be advanced only by the defense, unless a defensive player fumbles the ball, after which an offensive player can advance it."

Thought the same thing for a second, but I believe that's just an NCAA rule. In the NFL I think the kick can't cross the line of scrimmage in order to be a live ball.

Not positive on that.

If the player who catches it hasn't been touched, I thought.

I always thought the rule was that if the kick was blocked and didn’t go beyond the LOS it was treated like a fumble. If the kick fell short and the defender catches it before it hits the ground, it can then be advanced.

That's kind of what I was getting at.  I thought that I saw a defensive player (Steelers) just watch it stop on the ground rather than pick it up and advance it.

I might be wrong (highly unlikely).   Wink

N/M - A missed FG has to be caught.  LOS has no impact as I speculated.
It's the same officiating crew we had Sunday!

Guess they didn't get the job done Sunday. Man, when the NFL wants to screw you, it's gonna happen.

Smile
LOL

Villanueva holding pretty blatantly there.
