I think the Steelers would have a real shot at winning that game. It is at home, and Steelers will be playing pretty desperately for that game. They know they can't go to NE in the playoffs and win. They want the home field advantage badly and NE doesn't really care if they are #1 or #2.

It would be the conference record that would dictate who is ahead. If you look on CBS NFL playoff picture they seed the Steelers #1 right now because of conference record. This is what it says "
Pittsburgh is ahead of New England based on conference record (5-1 to the Patriots' 4-1)." If the conference record is tied, I am not sure what the next factor is. It could be common opponents, I am just not sure.
