I thought Day was disruptive as hell when he got a chance to play. Has to be something else up with this.

You can say that for 31 other teams in the NFL as well. Nobody thought Dak would be as good as he is. Not even the Cowboys or they would have drafted him higher. Sometimes, players just surprise you ala Tom Brady.

what makes it worse was we coached him in the Senior Bowl and we supposedly high on him.

Strong sucks but Day is an odd cut. There are worse players on the roster than Day, like Smoot.

Wow that is really a surprise.

News flash-our front office is not very good at scouting the quarterback position.

Nah it's just a depth and personnel move. Apparently he didn't fit what Hobby wanted at 3 tech. Already have Malik, Dareus, Calais, Abry who can play at 3 tech, Ankou can moonlight there also.
Seems like they just didn't think Day added any value at other spots to make him worth it. I disagree but whatever

Not really surprised. We can expect more of theses good players getting released as time goes. It’s about constantly upgrading and other times game day necessary casualties.

What lol. We were not drafting Prescott after Blake’s 35 td 4400 yard season lol

Time for the monster DeDe to hit the turf.

Seems like a TC move. Coughlin doesn't like smaller DTs and knows he will be a liability against the run

He said, "I don't think his strengths fit what Marion Hobby wanted in a three-tech."
His opinion is no more than anyone elses. He has no clue what goes on behind closed doors or if Coughlin wants bigger DT's that can hold up against the run

Called it in an earlier thread we were talking Dede in, just so many bodies on the D Line he was the odd man out. Not all that shocking when you pick up a guy mid season and its already the most crowded position on the team.
With Cole and Mickens making plays out there Strong is another easy move.
If Day is not claimed off of waivers I would be shocked, dude can ball.

I think Cle. will claim him. I think would be a perfect fit on their dline and they get first dibs

Common sense would say it's simply because we have so many people who play 3 tech and they don't feel Day adds as much in our other areas. Doesn't seem to be any off the field stuff. Agreed that Kaye is only speaking opinion wise there.

We drafted Brandon Allen after that season. I personally think we were waiting until the 5th/6th round to draft Prescott, but obviously he didn't fall that far.
