Y'all the type to blame a victim of a mugging of being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Abhorrent speech and behavior is now acceptable?
It's kinda assumed when dealing with teh internetz

There is no reason why Tony should be attacked the fans in general. It isn't the FANS attacking him. It is the individuals attacking him. Most of us don't use twitter or represent the opinions on twitter. So why attack THE FANS instead of the individual?
I get all of that. But there is something else to consider.
The Khans (Shad and Tony), have all of the power here-notably the team.
As public figures and owners of a product (professional football in Jacksonville), they are naturally going to be subject to criticism from dissatisfied fans.
But when the criticism turns personal, especially against someone who has little to no sway over football matters (and ultimately the end product with which we are all dissatisfied), it becomes patently unfair, and in the case of Jacksonville, potentially dangerous.
Tony Khan would've been better served using the block feature on Twitter instead of responding. But as a human being sometimes we give into the temptation to speak our minds whether it's right or wrong.
It's kinda like trying to extend an olive branch to a rabid pit bull.
At some point you recognize the futility, even if you missed the danger.
Quote:It's actually way worse in other big markets.
You think if the Jags, hypothetically, moved to London that those fans wouldn't go to social media and crush every single decision the team makes? Have you seen then during the Premiere League season?
Exactly. You should see what he gets about the Fulham team his dad owns.

He isn't attacking anyone. He's asking fans to be civil and stop making personal attacks towards him.
Tony has thin skin and the analytics he shares on Twitter are worthless
It''s a sad state of affairs when someone is criticized for reacting to vitriol in a civil manner.

Criticize the team, fine.
Calling the son of the owner a "disgusting human being" is way uncalled for.

No one disagrees but he's giving the guy exactly what he wants.
Sometimes "Social Media" isn't very social......personally.....I don't have a twitter account.
Other ways to say what i want to say.
Meh, is what it is. Khan shouldn't have responded, block the trash and move on. There are certain ways to go after someone and insults simply show your lackluster ability to form a coherent argument.

Exactly. Responding to trolling is exactly what they want.
The people that defend it make me laugh. Of all the people in the Jaguars organization that don't seem to need an attack, he's the one. The guy seems harmless and do as well as he can.
I guess that's why the Jaguar trolls go after him...it's easy.

Wow, so you're telling me that "spacecoastjag" on this forum is actually Tony?
Now that I think about it, it makes PERFECT sense.

The thing is...IF this team was doing good, then fans would be embracing the kind of openness that we have with our team (Jaguars.com coverage is amazing, for example, what with all the videos and player features). I think the whole nerd thing is weak, but as others have pointed out, there was one comment that went waaaaay over the line.
The irony of this 7 page monstrosity is real...
Fans are complaining because Tony Khan said they are being mean... calling him soft.
You do realize... a lot of you are absolutely butt hurt over being called mean... compared to the homophobic slurs hurled at him... if he's soft... I don't even know what word describes you.
If anything... he handled it well. Simply said hey, we used to be cool.. lately, you've been mean... ....... and that's it. OH MY GAWD GLOVES ARE OFF!!! HOW COULD HE!?!?!?
