The lighting on fire and bone braking antics, silly. But you can't knock our city for how we tailgate overall. The media loves to take those few bozos and make it look like that all of us. Reality is the vast majority are spread out in what feels like a college town just having a really really good time.

Don't even compare Jax to Buffalo. Buffalo might not be able to use the beaches in the winter but they have Niagara falls, Clifton hill and Canada 10 minutes from the city. Their food destroys anything in Florida. Their fans are better. Their hockey fans are more passionate. Jacksonville cannot touch Buffalo. I don't know too well of the job market in Jax but that might be the only thing that is better but probably not since Buffalo fans just bought all Jaguars playoff tickets 200% market value to Jags fans who needed the money. Ridiculous. Tailgating is legendary in Buffalo, mostly because of great fun and food. But more recently, because of stupid drunk people lighting tables on fire and jumping on them. If you've got an afternoon to kill, go to Deadspin and seach buffalo bills tailgate. You'll see plenty of videos of ridiculous things.

However, as another Bills fan pointed out, the guy with the ketchup and mustard, Pinto Ron, aka Kenny...if you want to see some ridiculous but clean Bills fun, you'll want to find him in the lot. Every game he puts on a shirt from the opposing team and gets squirted down with condiments. It's ridiculous, but a funny tradition. He's not missed a Bills game in over 2 decades, home and away. That's dedication. Youtube Pinto Ron.
I've only ever had good times in Buffalo and the Buffalo born folks I used to hang with during my 14 years in NYC were all solid folks.

Jax and Buffalo could hardly be more different if they tried. They both have some great things going for them.
I think Sunday will feature one obvious advantage of Jacksonville:
January football at 62 degrees fahrenheit.

Yes indeed. And it'll be much better what we played in against the Colts!

I would hate for them to wander off the wrong side of the stadium and try and show their [BLEEP]. Our areas surrounding downtown are known to not be as forgiving as marsh landing.

What is the deal with the ketchup and mustard?  I mean, is there something behind that? Or just a "hey, look at me!" Deal.

Don't be knocking the mean streets of Marsh Landing.  I mean, I was once walking between the Publix & Target and some dude asked me if I had any spare change.  It's getting rough over here.  Next thing you know, they'll be replacing Chick-fil-A with a Burger King or something.

This last post is why nobody respects you here or takes a thing you say as reality.
I lived in Jax for 24 years and visited Buffalo a few times, ex wife had family up there.

Both places suck, but for different reasons. Buffalo is the anus of the U.S. I could find no redeeming qualities at all.

At least Jax had great inshore fishing!
I've only spent 24 hours in Buffalo but that was a great day. Steve Miller opened up for the Grateful Dead -- June 6, 1992 at Rich Stadium.

I've never been to Buffalo, but you're probably right about the current state of affairs with having a larger fan base and more of a big city feel with better restaurant choices at present, but things do change.  The Bills have been around for a lot longer which explains all of that, but you're holding up two dying markets compared to one of the hottest in the nation real estate wise.  I got news for you...  Despite dodging the bullet recently, the Bills won't be in Buffalo forever as long as the grass is continually getting greener in a lot of other places.  Does your fandom travel with the team when it goes or does it stay with the city of Buffalo?  Sure, maybe the team stays close and just moves to Toronto.  Maybe they even keep the name Buffalo Bills by positioning themselves between Buffalo and Toronto, but you guys are going to have to do something about the continual population decline of the area (that's been in consistent decline since the 50's) if the team is going to remain there and I don't know if there is anything that can be done when the state of New York is competing with other, friendlier states for new businesses and the fact that people generally prefer to move to warmer climates if given the choice alone without a job being the driving factor.  But that doesn't explain Toronto which is apparently thriving.  You must be praying for natural disasters to wipe out California and Florida.  That might be the only thing that keeps the Bills where they are.  And I'd put odds on if either franchise moves, the Bills are much more likely to do so than the Jags.  You guys haven't been the visiting team here since 2013.  A lot has changed since then and you'll see it when you get to the stadium.  And if you're the visiting team again in a few years, you'll see a lot more changes around the stadium then too.  When the Bills do leave, if you decide to jump ship I'd completely understand.  We'd welcome your type of fandom as a Jags fan with open arms when the time comes.

Don't care...Jags fans need to be loud and proud. This team is legit! The fans need to make it an over-the-top home-field advantage.

I’m not sure that you understand how this thing works. The OWNER decides where the team plays, not the league. The Bills are owned by a very rich guy that has roots and a substantial investment in WNY. They call it Pegulaville. The second that he and his wife purchased the team ensured that the Bills would remain in WNY for generations.
