Quote:I don't care for Westerns either, but this is one of the good ones.

Btw, my sister's boyfriend explained a lot to me yesterday things that I didn't understand. A little more clear now.
I'm witcha - it's a mystery that happens to be set in a current day western theme park. Totes different.

I've peaked at some plot theories and I don't believe I've seen anything about the time frame. I guess it would make sense this would be something happening in the future? Or a mixture of present and past (hence the western?) I love mysteries!

It's set in the future.

That's just what someone who doesn't want us to think it's in the past WOULD say!
Quote:Listen. I said as long as it wasn't TOO western-y and more syfy-y, then I would be down. I'm down!

if it was a straight up western, no way. BO-RING.  :yucky:

Without trying to be argumentative, I have one question. Have you seen either The Outlaw Josey Wales or Unforgiven? If you have and still don't like westerns, I'll let it go. If you haven't, and are willing to give them a shot, I encourage you to do so.

I don't believe I've seen the Outlaw Josey Wales, but I know of it. It's one of my fathers favs. I have seen Unforgiven, which was yeaarrrsss ago. I couldn't tell you a thing about it, but I do remember thinking it was good. Clint Eastwood, correct? I did like young guns when I was a teenager  Tongue

There's something about dated movies or TV that just doesn't appeal to me, but I have found if I give it a chance I do end up liking them somtimes. Case in point - Braveheart. I was SO against watching this and someone talked me into it, it was, as we all know, amazing. BUT, It's just not something that off the rip I have a yearning to watch.

Edit: I know Braveheart isn't a western, but I feel the same about those spartan type flicks too ie: 300, spartucus, etc. etc.

The two best westerns ever. Especially Unforgiven. I just found out it's on Netflix and am going to watch it tonight.

Well it's in the future.  How far in the future may depend on which scene you're watching.   Ninja

I'm with ya on that.
Surprised no one is talking about the last episode. Interesting twist with Bernard.

Yeah, it had been speculated but I really liked the way they handled the reveal.  Great acting and directing.  The series is well produced but I'm still waiting for some kind of cohesive plot to develop.  There are all these loose plot threads, has a little bit of a "Lost" vibe in terms of the way that's developing so I hope they do a better job than "Lost" did of tying things together and ultimately resolving plot points.  Smile
IMO, the plot is taking the shape of a race to find the original "creator."

Question is, who will get there first - man or machine?  And what will those consequences be?

The programmers know who the original creator(s) were, they just don't know the "secrets" behind the old code.

.... just watched the most recent Episode 7.

another intriguing story line is what will happen to the Hosts when they finally cross over beyond the park border.

Can't wait for the x-rated version of this show to come out.

I was waiting for one of the characters running the park to turn out to be a robot, for some reason I was thinking it would be the girl Bernard killed not him.  Lots of theories to throw out there wondering which way the show will take it.  I like how the hosts get infected by other broken hosts and start their journey to being self aware.  Hopkins is such a good villain especially when you consider he hasn't really been one until this episode.  I'm pretty excited to see how Ed Harris progresses in the story.

I finally got to watch he most recent episode. What a great turn with Bernard though I hope Elsie isn't dead, I like her as the viewer's surrogate on the show.

Im going to have to go back and re-watch the first handful of episodes. I never bought into the theory that Bernard was a host. Never understood why people did.

Still loving the show and the mysteries that abound.
