NE never overlooks any team. They are only focused on the next opponent and from the first day of camp, the ONLY goal is to win the SB. Just getting there is not the aim. The Patriots are NOT the Steelers.

I live on 109. Are you up just past Ted's?

Glad to hear that London talk is done.

You are correct. The pats are not the Steelers. The Steelers have way more offensive play makers and more talent than the pats and that will be painfully obvious around 7pm tomorrow
The Steelers are a sandlot team with no coaching, not discipline, and no adjustments. They are more concerned with trash talking and contracts than they are with the actual game. I'll be Brady and Belichick could beat them 11 out of 13 meetings. Oh, wait!

You should have stopped after the word "future." That would be the only accurate thing you've written today.
I think it's good to see opposing fans here. One of the sad things about the past five miserable seasons is that we were so bad, opposing fans didn't bother to show up. And on the rare occasions they did, what were we supposed to say to them? "Well, you won't beat us by forty this time!"

It was certainly easier to deal with them in the past.  We owned our suckage.  Every conversation ended up being us defending the city and fanbase.  Now, it feels good that we can actually put up facts and numbers why the Jags can or will win.  And when those buffalo morons came in here and got beat down with the facts they resorted to city bashing.  Well, we already had experience in that department to shoot them down quick.  Half ended up leaving or being banned before the game.  Or maybe they just ran out of tables to set their laptop/computers on.

Well, you have Coughlin now. He has a good football mind, but we all saw the state of the Giants his last year. OBJ was losing his mind on the field and TC had no idea. He's much more valuable where he is. Marrone showed he knew what he was doing when he was with the Bills. Their fans loved him until he left. Then all they did was trash him. Most are still bitter today. Then your GM made some great FA pickups. That's a super formula.

As an outsider, the thing that would worry me is the play of Bortles. I won't get into details, but you know what I'm talking about. We've seen his stats. Do you think he's turned the corner?

If by turned the corner you mean turned into a top of the league QB, then no. He has played much better this season than any of the others in the past. My take is that the Jags are in pretty good position regarding Bortles. A decision about his long term future with the team doesn't have to be made at the end of this season. Basically, the teams gets to evaluate him for one more season. In the meantime, I suspect the position will be addressed, probably through the draft. Personally, I'd like to see Bortles operate the same playbook for two straight years for the first time in his career.
The Pats fans I've run into are generally arrogant but actually pretty knowledgeable. Compared to Steeler and Bills fans, it's night and day. Some of them actually seemed pretty well informed about our team. I guess you can excuse their arrogance a little bit considering their history over the last 15 years.

I agree with this take.  I'm up here in Rhode Island, less than 70 miles from Gillette and this is what I have observed as well.

The score was 28-14 at the half. At that time the defense generated a sack, a td and an interception while blowing up 2 4th down calls.

At the 9 minutes mark in the fourth quarter it was 42 to 28. After Ben threw 2 hailmarys on fourth down to the end zone. At that nine minute mark is when the defense started trading yards and points for clock. Not to mention Ben almost had 3-5 more tipped passes that could have been picked of. Ramsey even dropped one late.

It was 10 point game until Vegas made the call.... I mean Ben scored a td with 1 second left on the clock.

This 42 point narrative is getting old and will be the exact reason many “analyst” and spectators will be upset 7 pm on Sunday. This defense is a top defense. Maybe one of the all time greats and the world (cause wez a global team down here in little ole Jacksonville) will see that tomorrow.
49ers? Titans X2? Cardinals? Jets? You guys have the Squeelers' number. Those other games are more concerning.

I've got a good friend from Peabody, MA. Class of '83. Unfortunately, she's not a good enough friend...

You guys loss to the Chiefs, Panthers and Dolphins?  Can you explain how that's possible?  Also, why did you struggle against the Texans this season (you beat them by 3 points)?  We destroyed them.  And you got a freebie against the Steelers with 7 points given to you by a bad reversal on a TD from the refs.  Can you explain your imperfection?  And by imperfection I mean you're team must be horrible (using your logic of course).

See how dumb that sounds?  It's the same cherry picking you did regarding the Jags.

There are some intelligent Jaguars' fans here and we understand how good the Patriots are.  We also understand how good the Jags are right now.  And I think of most us objectively believe the Jags will win not because we are fans but because we are actually the better team.

I guess we will find out tomorrow.

I believe it'll be a great game and should be fun to watch.  I would say enjoy the game but I don't think many Pats fans do any more.  They are spoiled from all the success and have no perspective on how big a deal it is to be in it at this point in the playoffs.

Confidence is often mistaken for arrogance. When a team wins 12-14 games each season, of course fans will be confident. 18 years of confidence can easily be confused with arrogance. We never expect the Pats to lose because when your team wins 80% of the time, you expect to win. Jordan's Bulls and today's GS Warriors for example.

Those of us who have been through the (so many) 2-5 win seasons know the difference. If the Jags go on to win the SB this year, you guys can brag, be as obnoxious, and arrogant as you want and no one can say %$#@ about it.

If the Jags win, I'll be back to take  my medicine.

We can rationalize our losses the same way you guys do. Lots of new players at the beginning of the year, a divisional opponent, etc. 11-1 over the last 12 games. 14 points/game allowed.

To many people, sustained confidence equates to arrogance. Trust me, they are extremely different...

I hear you. I differentiate arrogance from confidence by looking to see if they're saying "we should win because we're a better team" compared to "we should win because we're the Patriots".

Excluding the 2007 season, there hasn't been one big game played by the Pats in 15 years where pundits didn't think the opponent didn't have 'better, more talented rosters' than the Pats did. Somehow the Pats come out on top more often than not.

Can you EXPLAIN the difference though? There certainly is one, but when you try to explain it, it sounds condescending and people take offense. Between a rock and a hard place.

LOL

Yeah. What an enigma!  How could any team have a better overall roster and still lose to a team led by a superior QB and coaching staff?  Crazy talk!

In all seriousness, you must realize that brady the hoodie tip the scales pretty heavily in the stinkin pats' favor in this type of discussion, right?
Great game guys! Hope this is the start of something big for the Jags...

The Blitz for 6 continues!

Enjoy the Super Bowl...I would be disappointed if I knew I had success because of a rigged NFL with refs giving you guys 7-14 points.  The Jags wanted Brady healthy so they had a chance to beat the best.  The Pats will take wins however they get them.  It's a sad league with no integrity.

Thanks, and we hope so too. Sure seems that way. Hope we do this again next year.

Cheers.
