Hurts bad. Who knows when we're gonna make it this far again. My day started off bad and now this. Just sucks bad
The old Bum Phillips quote comes to mind......this year we knocked on the door, next year we'll beat on it.....and the year after we'll beat it down
Thank You Jaguars for one hell of a season!
Not even a little.
We came off a 3-13 season with a QB controversy in preseason and a coach nobody was excited about .
Won a Division Championship AND got to see a Home Playoff win with my son after 18 years of waiting and wondering of it would ever happen again in my lifetime.
The Pittsburgh win was an epic freebie.
Just a great season and got more than I could've ever, ever dreamed of back in September.

If we had lost outright, rather than getting jobbed by [BLEEP] tard officiating that calls things one way and not the other, I'd have felt better.  We won this game.  We are the better team.  We were playing against the officials.

I also feel like it's possible that we're not back here next year.  Maybe it's my Jaguar cynicism kicking in, but I'm worried this was lightning in a bottle and we're back to being [BLEEP] next year.

I don't know.

On a personal level you are good bro. You have a good team that will be solid for the next 10 years. We gonna win it real soon man
It hurts mostly because this game was so winnable. Despite the totally biased officiating in favor of the Patriots, the delay of game penalty at the end of the first half and allowing the Patriots to convert on 3rd and 18 were what lost the game for the Jaguars. If even one of those blunders doesn't happen, the Jaguars win this game. I'd still rather lose a heartbreaker like this than get blown out 42-0.
I am almost relieved, we were way overachieving this year and I knew it, but its awesome thinking this D will all be back next year and even better. I fully expect us to be in the playoffs again.
This year we took it to the limit and I was in my new beach house watching from Miami. But you cant have a newcomer come in..
Massively hurt yet massively proud
I was disapointed with the outcome of the game but i'm very happy with the season we had. Jags stunk last year!

Doug Marrone seems to be the real deal. Should be a fun offseason

Lol! No stealing the show for us!
Meh.. I've learned to channel my frustrations. If you want to be a die hard fan of an NFL team (maybe besides the Patriots) you know how these games go. Very passionate and frustrated at the outcome but after a few minutes it's time to move on. This isn't your life. Appreciate the season and keep your crap together. For comparison.. I was 11 years old when we lost to the Titans in 1999. We were the home field advantage undisputed best team in the league and we lost at home in a very pathetic manner. The team cleared a lot of hurdles this year. We know what it takes.. football is fun again for us. Appreciate what we have we should be pretty good for a while. The window just opened for this team.
Not huet. Disappointed they couldn't finish, bummed they couldnt overcome the refs, but not hurt. This team is intact for years to come. Bottles looked the last few weeks like he may actually be the QB we need (just make that a more common occurance), and the defense is gonna be PISSED next season. Excited to see what next year holds for this team. Fluke? Legit? Ready to find out already....

I'm going to be honest here... if you cry about a football game, as a fan, you need to think about priorities in your life. With that said, this loss was tough to swallow, however, keep things in perspective. Many teams would have killed to be in the position the Jaguars were in today. They represented themselves well. They just aren't good enough on offense to win a Super Bowl. Maybe next time.

We shall see. Its all for naught if we can't get at least one SB victory.
We were “one player away” in 2007 and didn’t  see the playoffs for ten years. Not buying we’ll be back because of one good year. We had the opportunity of a lifetime and scared it away by coward leadership.
I'm proud of them.

They'll be in the hunt for the next few years.

Coward leadership? What do you mean?

That’s the way I feel too.   Big picture.

While I agree about being 1 play away in 2007, this is really more comparable to 2005 other than the 1 play thing. And if we hadn't been wrecked by injuries in 2008, who knows what would have happened. Gene wouldn't have come on and maybe we wouldn't have sucked so bad by 2011. We were a decent team till then, but it was clearly prior draft picks propping us up, some even going back to Coughlin.

I look at 2004-2010 as a window that was never fully opened do to one really bad change (making Gene Smith GM). We had talent, our D was good, we were in the mix for the playoffs late in the season even as far as 2010. But basically no new talent was added at all from 09-12, thats what made the 10 year thing happen. And all our old talent was dumped for 'new, better players' who were clearly worse than the players they replaced.
Im hurt. We had it. We were right there. We were up 10 and had 3rd and 18.
