Quote: Bortles has nothing to do with the Jags making the playoffs are not.

It's a poorly coached team without a defense still. 26 ppg defenses don't make the playoffs.
Lol! Yeah,,, the most important position on the field has nothing to do with a teams success. Hahahahahahaha

Defense: the defense is much better this year. They've played well in 5/6 games this year.

The points against in the Raiders game was due to the offense not being able to do ANYTHING (turning the ball over,, 3and Outs,, etc). The defense had that game within reach for 3 qtrs. But it finally gave out after the Jags couldn't score any points, sustain drives; keeping them on the field the WHOLE game.

You're absolute denial to look at each game as a singular entity is what screws up your legitimacy. "Yearly totals,,Yearly totals". Umm, that would work if each data point (each game) was constant. But, they're not. Each game is different (situations, matchups, strength of opponents, turnovers,, etc.).

Bortles' totals from last year was not indicative of how he played each and every game. There were games he was very good, and there were games that he was not so good.

Defense's totals were not indicative of how they played each game. Some games last year, they played well (well enough to win). Other games, they did not play well at all.

Yearly totals do not tell the story of each game. Only an idiot would think that. Or, maybe it's just that you need much higher level courses than stats 101.

Bortles is MORE consistent than Cam Newton. How do you spin that?
Your obsession with comparing Bortles to Newton is odd and off-putting.

More like creepy.
What are the Jags and Panthers records again?

Oh yeah,, awful.

Jags could've won the Baltimore and Green Bay games.

Turnovers by the offense, and the offense's inability to capitalize on turnovers (particularly the 4th qtr vs Balt) is what has Jax sitting at 2-4 instead of 4-2.
You should find a new team to root for.  You are honestly too dumb to see that Blake Bortles has been awful.  You are more than willing to place 100% of the blame on every single part of this team except Bortles.  Of course you'll throw out there he hasn't been good occasionally....he hasn't just not been good, he's been the worst part of the team, by far.

If it wasn't for this defense, we wouldn't have those two wins.  That Chicago win was luck.  Bortles was horrific for 3 quarters.  Receiver standing there open and he throws the ball 2 yards to the left of the receiver.  Watch the game, know what you're talking about.

Bb5 sucks so far this year. But isn't this thread about Tom Coughlin??

Every thread with spacecoast posting in it turns into a Bortles lovefest.
I like Bortles as much as anyone, but we can't ignore the facts.  He's slipped this year.  Throwing into double coverage in the end zone is not the defense's fault.  Getting flagged on a free play for intentional grounding isn't Gus Bradley's fault.  His throwing motion is terrible, much worse than last year.

I am still of the theory that Blake feels too much pressure due to a lack of running game, and is pressing too hard, and that's what's causing the mistakes.

Quote:When have Jags WRs EVER been open this year besides Marquise Lee on a crossing route over the middle? I haven't seen it.
Dude how do you keep spouting this lie? NYC4jags fellow has posted the pictures of Arob wide open multiple times in threads that you have been posting in directly before and after. There is no way you haven't seen them, yet you continue to lie through your teeth. We all saw the vine of Benn running open on the crosser for what would have been an easy first down on the play that Blake threw the triple coverage INT on Sunday.

You have truly gotten to the point where you have told a big enough lie enough times that it has become you truth, even though everyone else knows it is not the truth.

But Cam Newton!

At some point you would think it would be considered spamming and should be warning/ban worthy.
Quote:I might be wrong but wasn't that more to do with him being terrible at cap management?
Yes, the cap is what lead to those two 6-10 seasons that got Coughlin fired.  I think Coughlin and Caldwell would be a great combo, but sadly it probably will never happen.

Ok, once again you keep talking about Bortles THIS season. Why did he have a top 10-12 QB season LAST YEAR and the Jags were (5-11)? Because Gus Bradley is a loser, that's why. You expect Bortles to put up 35 TDs and 4400 yards EVERY year? Aaron Rodgers did that ONCE, EVER.

Everyone knew Bortles wouldn't repeat last year's stats.......the problem is the TEAM and Gus Bradley hasn't gotten better. KUMBIYA, KUMBIYA.....more meetings for Shad Khan.
Quote:This team would give tom a brain aneurysm after two practices

By season's end, he'd have to teach basic football language, what the rules of the game are and really every other fundamental football skill..

remember the only things the jags have learned in 4 years is how to jump and yell man, and toughness man, and competition man, and man, thats great man, and we talked about playing man, and we talked about the use of the word man, man..
hilarious...and true
He's doing it in this thread too?

Wow.
Ya know Coughlin principles agree with many.  But I don't see him coming back as our HC.  Many much younger that fit our schemes more. I would not be again Peyton being a HC.  But I was one of many who said would of loved him here before went to Denver.

But absolutely hated him on the clots for obvious reasons.
