Robinson is still only 4 months older than Westbrook. He hasn't even reached his full potential. If the Jags let him walk, he will be snatched up faster than almost any free agent WR in the past 5 years.

The dumbest thing is can somebody show me where Robinson consistently makes yards after the catch. He just jumps up and falls down.

His size is naturally eliminated as any kind of physical advantage. He hardly ever catches the ball in stride and never has a foot or two of separation from a defender. What kind of an offense is that?

As it is, he stands to make much more money than we should risk.

We've had drop and fall receivers in Jacksonville including Dennis Northcutt, but that's not at all ARob's m.o. ARob is always quick to do what it takes to run after the catch and score. The thing is, he's also great at coming back for underthrown balls due to throws failing to hit him in stride. One of the first things I noticed about ARob was that he had Fitz' gift for tracking footballs in the air, and he'll do what it takes to make the catch first... but given the chance, you bet he'll run with it.

In regard to running after the catch, and while nobody is quite Justin Blackman when it comes down to this, I have thought about ARob compares to the great Jimmy Smith. You see, Jimmy would get the ball and he'd run with it after the catch... only he'd find the quickest route to angle himself toward the sideline, and that's why his TD count is so low compared to others with anywhere near his number of catches or yards. But with ARob, you see him looking to score after the catch whenever possible.

I've actually noticed for many years over and over again how ACLs tend to work. Typically the first year back the player is just a little worse than before... like not that much worse but enough for it to be noticeable. ...but then the following year the guy breaks out better than ever before. I keep seeing that routine happen.

ACL injuries aren't as devastating as they once were.  This isn't 1998.

I agree they aren't going to pony up big to keep Arob. They'll try to give him a lowball prove it contract and he'll pass cause he knows the Bears, Niners, Colts, Jets, etc will give him a monster deal.

And then they better tag him.

I'd say Arob wants a straight up Davante Adams deal (probably a bit more), where as the Jags would prefer to do a similar deal on paper but with A) More incentive based in year 1 and B) With the usual outs as the rest of the contracts.

I'd say both want a deal done and the Jags have no problem ponying up the money. Just that Arobs guy is trying to squeeze as much as he can in year 1 from us. And has mentioned he knows worst case scenario he gets a big guaranteed franchise tag with the opportunity for a huge contract next year. Win-win for Arobs side to wait it out..

I certainly hope not. But I can definitely see a scenario where the team moves on.

If we are going to tag A Rob it has to be done by next Tues

If Arob knows we are serious about keeping him it makes all the sense in the world for him to wait it out..

Arob knows what we did without him. If he wants to be part of something special he'll sign. if not let him walk

There is always that chance of injury and he know that first hand after last year.  If he has a chance to get 30 mil + guaranteed it might be in his best interest.

I’d like to own Hawaii.  But unfortunately, there is often a limit and choosing one thing may preclude you from choosing another.

So if we sign Robinson, we won't be able to also sign Pugh? Or draft Hernandez?
