On Gesicki I'll agree that he needs to develop as a blocker, but did you see his combine numbers? We're talking about elite TE numbers here making him a very real threat in the passing game.
I could definitely be wrong.  I don't put too much stock into combine numbers.  If Jags take Goedert, then I'm assuming it's with the idea that he'll be able to block right away and they can develop him in the passing game.


Goedert has better passing stats than any TE in this draft. I don't see the need for him to develop at all in any aspect. He's already there.

Goedert has better passing stats than any TE in this draft. I don't see the need for him to develop at all in any aspect. He's already there. 

None of these TE's are even close to a 1st round talent. They'll grab Schultz in the later rounds for blocking.

At least with respect to Goedert and Gesicki, I totally disagree. There's nothing not to like about Goedert aside from him being from a smaller school where you may have to keep things in perspective. He's a natural tight end able to do it all. Meanwhile, Gesicki just put up combine numbers that rival only the most elite TEs visit the combine. He's EASILY a first-round talent despite his struggles blocking in college. I'd have no problem with either player at #29.
