He has a ton of players falling which looks to be insane. Goedert to 52? Washington to 56?

I like Connor Williams a lot. Maybe he could fill in at RG for one season and then Parnell would be gone in 2019, allowing Williams to go to LT and Robinson shifting to RT. I still see Williams as a potentially elite LT prospect, but he probably lacks the size to play RT. That's why I move Robinson. Plus, I've always believed Robinson could be one of the best RT's in the NFL. Jefferson isn't a bad pick, I just think their are equally better players who could be had in the 3rd or 4th round at that position and I hate the Stewart pick. I see many better CB options in this draft.

I see a lot of picks that make a lot of sense for several teams in that draft.
Not so much for the Jags outside of round 1.
I like all three players he's giving us, I don't love the value.
It's striking to me how many high profile football talking heads don't realize that Myles Jack is practically a lock to play MIKE full time in 2018.

Outsiders just don't know the Jaguars. One of those talking heads, the subject was drafiting a wr, I can't recall the person but he babbled Jaguar receiver names Westbrook and Jaydon Mickens. That's it. He said Jaydon Mickens! He's like the 5th wr on the depth chart. He didn't say Lee or Cole.

I'd be happy with a Williams/Gesicki or
Williams/Smith or Ragnow

I just don't see us picking a LB in the first 3 rounds.
Any linebacker we pick would only play 35% of the snaps at most. That was Poz's workload last year.
We don't have any 2019 or 2020 salary cap issues at the LB position, so it's not a long term need either.
We have 2 kinds of needs-
Immediate starters who would improve us right away- those are OL, TE, maybe WR if it's a 1st round pick.
And the other kind of need we have is to fill the gaps in 2019 when we have to release some players for cap reasons. That would be DL or safety.
I just don't see any big benefit from picking a LB that high in the 2018 draft.
And I echo what some others have said- these national pundits don't know our team half as well as we do. (And some of them don't even care.) That's why they're off base so often.

Poz's snaps were limited because he couldn't cover, but that doesn't necessarily mean a new starting LB's snaps would be limited as much. ...and even if he were, that's 1/3 of the game. We can't afford to have just any scrub out there for 1/3 of the game.

If they want a LB that can come in on early downs to provide run support, there's zero reason why they need to select one high either. You can get a guy like that in the 3rd or 4th round easily. Jack is going to get paid if he keeps this up also, so between him and Telvin, I don't see why we'd want to more money than we'd need to into the other LB spot, especially considering how much (or how little) he will be on the field.

Figured I'd update with his new latest mock. That would be a pretty dream scenario for the first 3 rounds.

You are right but the more I play around with draftspeak, the more realistic is seems. There is a LOT of talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. We don't know who they will be but a guarantee there will be some legit steals.

2. Gisecki
3. Dawson
James Washington went the pick right before Dawson. Man if we could add him instead of Dawson (who I really like at Nickel) this offense would be loaded.

To me, this is almost the perfect mock draft. The Jaguars land the tackle with the highest upside who can begin his career at guard. If he's totally recovered from his injury, this is a steal. Gesicki would be a great threat every time Bortles throws him the ball. When he and Seferian-Jenkins are on the field together, the defense will have definite problems. No, he's not ever going to be a blocking tight end, but I trust Hackett would know how to utilize him and maximize his freakish athleticism. Unfortunately, after he killed the Combine there's no way he makes it to the Jags in round 2.
The 3rd and 4th picks were great value picks, also. Dawson would cause critics of the Hayden signing to take it up another notch as it would only be a matter of time before he beats out the over-priced free agent. Sam is very athletic and would almost immediately compete with Brown for snaps at linebacker. In summary, I'd do backflips if the 1st 4 rounds ended up like Brugler predicted. The only thing missing is the quarterback, but for a team that wants to win now I'm o.k. with Bortles and Kessler.

Agreed. We'd get the OL in Williams (though I think he needs to put on some weight) the TE in Gesicki, Dawson in the 3rd. I would change the 4th rounder to Falk, though.

I was going to reply that I'd take Mike White in the third (instead of Falk in the fourth) and then take a nickel in the fourth - but Brugler has White long gone at #83 overall prior to our third rounder.

I do like White. If the top 6 QBs are gone, I'm just debating the best way to grab him. Do we go something like OL in the first, TE/DL in the 2nd, then move up a bit to grab in the 3rd? Or just take him in the 2nd?
