I had high hopes for him in regards to reining in the spending. Oh, well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were to run for the 2024 presidential election when the GOP attempts to take back the white house.

To a certain extent he did.  They got Trump to sign a Bill that didn't include is #1 campaign agenda, an expanded Wall.

That statement is not true, because I am not celebrating this announcement.   He has apparently given up on reining in the spending, and I would never celebrate that.

Isn't apparent that nearly all have given up on reining in spending?  Only that I can think of off the top of my head that still stand up are Amash and Paul.

It's like executives and investors raiding a failing company - accelerating it into the ground/bankruptcy.

They get in, pay themselves handsomely until the parachute turns double platinum, then pull the ripcord whenever the gig is up.

Some are lucky enough to get re-elected no matter what they spend or how they perform.  Their riches have no bounds as they need no parachute.  They have a constituency that would never pull the lever for anyone else.

Either I vote for the guy who will give me back some of my money or the other guy wins and I get none of it back. Voting is now about the level to which we get screwed because everyone is lubing up.
