Trumps unorthodox methods work. Why do people continue to act surprised at this type of thing?

His tactics also make the MSM and the left openly side with terrorist sponsors out of their hatred for Trump. He isn't an idiot people.

Tough guy Donald has a spinal cord when he tweets. When he actually meets a strong man (NK, Russia, etc.) he caves.

The usual bully m.o.

What exactly has he caved on?  I know this is the regurgitated talking point provided to the left, but seriously, what did he cave on in either instance?

Shouldn't you be happy if he actually caved since the position of the left has been absolute appeasement no matter what, right?  That was the entire Iran nuke deal in a nutshell.  A non-binding agreement that wasn't even signed off on by Iran that did nothing to stop them from developing their nukes while using the billions we sent them in cash (illegally) to help expand their state sponsored terrorist programs aimed at American allies.

With Russia, we've completely reversed the policies on providing missile defense systems to allies like Poland.  Obama balked at doing so to appease Putin, and you and the rest of your buddies on the left apparently swallowed your outrage.  When the Russians invaded the Ukraine and annexed Crimea, they got almost no tangible response from the Obama administration other than some limp wristed sanctions, once again to avoid offending Putin.  The Trump administration opted to provide lethal weaponry to Crimea, and they're pressing Russia on the eastern Ukraine occupation as well.

Obama turned a blind eye when the EU and NATO nations started to initiate deals with Russia on things like natural gas pipelines.  Trump called out Germany on this at the NATO summit, and of course, the left howled that we were attacking an ally, but there is an arrangement among NATO allies to work with them on deals like this. He also called out nations who were not paying their share of their GDPs that were committed to previously toward their defense.  The net result is that the left howls that he's breaking up NATO, but they're suddenly starting to ante up what they've been expected to pay.

The left howls about the tweets regarding trade and Trump's use of tariffs.  Meanwhile, Trump has negotiated a deal with the EU on both soy beans and providing them with natural gas from the US.

It seems to me the more he outrages the left with his tweets, the better it is for this country.  You and your buddies on the left can throw your little hissy fits.  It's not stopping anything other than your dreams of a border free globalist society where everyone is equal, the rich pay for everything, and government provides us with all the good things in life for free.

Um, it is!
If you do anything to embarrass Putin, profess any contrary opinion publicly, he ends you.
No one gets rich in Putin's Russia.
The very rich don't play fair with the not-rich, so the not-rich don't get fair opportunities to innovate and invest well.
All of the very rich had solidified their gains by getting sweetheart deals during the privatization Bonanza right before Putin came to power.
And they will lose this gains if they stop supporting Putin.

If the United States energy policies under Trump continue, Putin is going to see his influence shrink even further.  Their GDP is smaller than states like California and Texas.  So, when the left goes nuts because Trump didn't dress down Putin in a press conference, they're completely ignoring the actions of this administration that will minimize any influence Russia has outside of their own borders, while destabilizing their economy to the point where Putin will be hard-pressed to remain in control without going full commie again.  Crippling their economy by cutting off the natural gas and oil spigot while applying even stronger sanctions will do a lot more to hurt Russia than words in a press conference.  Deeds, not words.
BUT HIS TWEETER!!!
