Quote:We're also 2 plays from being 0-5.

Can we all stop this "2 plays away" thing?  We BARELY won the 2 games we did win.  We are closer to 0-5 than 4-1.

Just be glad we got the 2 wins.

To me, the thing is these either way games are starting to balance out.

Before, we were almost assured of losing them-even assuming we'd ever be in position for a game to go either way.

Now, we are losing some and winning some.

We just need to win more of them.

This is an understated point.

Show of hands...how many people either stopped watching or seriously considered doing so at the beginning of the 4th quarter? I know I did...several times in fact.
Quote:look if we beat the Raiders this Sunday we will be making a serious statement to the AFC south and the NFL that we are contenders and all the talent we have is still struggling but at some point when it all glues together we will be playing tremendous football. We just won 2 games in a row with bad play all around, except the defense did better against the Bears.

Did you watch the first of those two games? Our defense gave up only one big play against the Colts and that was Todd Wash's fault. We finally gave the RBs big holes to run through. We earned the win with backups and the third string TE. The defense made great plays and only gave up one big play. The OL finally created big holes for the RBs. The only "luck" in that game was the opposing QB.

Eh... You had to qualify it w/ "4th quarter".

I found myself completely unable to get excited at all during the game.  A slight eyebrow raise during the first drive, but once it ended in an interception, I was only casually watching... granted... it was what... an hour before we got another 1st Down?  Not like there was much to watch.

I'm just not able to get hyped about 2 ugly, barely wins... against teams like the Colts and Bears...

It's nice to add to the W column... but we're barely scraping by against terrible teams... it's about to get real ugly again.

Did you know, we don't have a single team left on our schedule that has a losing record except for Week 17 against the Colts?

It truly was a dominant performance by the Jaguars, one that erased any doubt, this team will win the Super Bowl.  To have so thoroughly dismantled the 2-4 Colts by an enormous margin of 3 POINTS!

If the Colts WRs could actually catch pass now and then...

He got it from Jon Gruden!

I personally thought about not watching ever again for the rest of my life.

See ya!
He must be talking about from a talent stand point. We sure won't have the most wins.

Not watching what? If the answer is Jacksonville, go find another team to root for.

Because you beat the Raiders? is that because they are 4-2?

They're still the Raiders. They are closer to 7-9 than they are to 9-7. Beating the Raiders won't mean anything when they're likely to lose to three AFCSouth teams.

Beat Minnesota. Beat the Bills. Beat the Chiefs. Then maybe others will hear you.

So you're saying the Raiders suck and are lucky to have four wins? Like the Jaguars, they were widely picked as a darkhorse playoff contender because of a talent infusion to go with their third year QB. Now the Chiefs don't get talked about as much as they were last year, instead gaining the most attention for upsetting Oakland.

I guess you're going to ignore the fact we never trailed in the Colts game. That game was effectively over the moment we went up 30-20 late in the fourth.

The raiders aren't a complete scrub team like the titans, colts, and bears have been, which is why the Jaguars winning against them would signal a change. It would be the first time in years the Jaguars beat a team that wasn't clearly on its way to a top ten draft pick.

Of course even if the Jaguars do win it could play out that the raiders were scrubs like the rest of the AFCS too, but as of right now they don't appear to be on the same level as teams the Jaguars have been beating during Gus' time here.

You didn't actually watch the game, did you?

We  barely hung on to win.  The Colts were driving up and down the field on us in the 4th and damned near pulled it off.

Don't act like we had such a dominant performance that we were sitting our starters and enjoying tea and crumpets on the sidelines...

The Jags came within a play of blowing that MASSIVE 10 point lead...

I hope you're ready to have reality come back... because we aren't playing another team as bad as the Colts/Bears until Week 17.

The raiders are a better overall team than you're giving them credit for. They're right up there at the top of the afc.

I'd be pumped if the jags pulled off the win but I wanna see us play well, I don't want it to be just a poor performance by the raiders that get us by.

Yeah, I was up bright and early. The ten point lead thingy happened with 5 mins left in the game. Not impossible to overcome but severely difficult as we saw. It only became sketchy because we couldn't run the clock out. Let's also not forget it took a busted coverage just to get that td. No way were they going to get THAT lucky again.

In fairness, it wasn't lucky.  They keyed on Ramsey doing the exact same thing in the first half, and went back to the same play on the opposite side of the field, got him to bite on the underneath throw again, and burned him over the top.

They put him in position to make the Rookie mistake, and he did.  It was actually pretty well designed.

The point is, people act like we dominated someone.  We didn't.  The Colts were one play from beating us.  That's not dominating.  One missed tackle, one bad angle, could have given them the game.

It's a W.  Absolutely.  It's a W against a terrible Colts team.

My point is... look at the games.

Colts, terrible, won a close one.

Bears, terrible, won a close one.

Ravens, pretty bad, lost a close one.

Green Bay, struggling, lost a close one.

Chargers, horrid, lost badly.

So we're between Struggling, Pretty Bad, and Terrible.

Actually, he bit on it early in the game but luck made the wrong read. Then, they ran it again in crunch time and he made the same mistake. That passing concept is pretty mundane and only works of someone is out of position. I say it was lucky because they went to the well too early, but they needed a score. They did not make it into field goal range, which shouldn't have been a tall order for someone like luck. Just give us the credit of sealing the win. Seriously.

All you are saying is you are not a Jaguars fan. The reality is we won our last two games, never trailed in Week 4, and have only been blown out at San Diego. The reality is we stayed in games and barely lost at home twice. The reality is we have shown the ability to beat teams that are not named the Colts and Bears. You are the one who needs a reality check.
