He is retired - but there was a rumor floating around twitter that he was at TIAA Bank stadium this very morning.

If he was "basically Wilds" they probably wouldn't be bringing him in after working out three free agents.

They likely believe him to be (at the very least) smarter than Wilds in protection duty, and they also likely see him as better at finding a crease.

You're right.

His cone is actually wayyyyy slower than Wilds.

Wilds- 7.08
Williams- 7.55

Their 40 times were the same at 4.5. Maybe he is here for LT too, =P.

Way to ignore everything I just posted.  You earn the KYjaggy trophy for the evening.  Do you happen to have his spider chart handy?

Seriously though... I don't understand why the resident pessimists are taking issue with those of us who are trying to see some potential in this kid to simply be a better spell for Yeldon than Wilds was on Sunday.
That's all we're trying to see from him. Maybe he isn't even that good, but the logical thing to do right now is try to figure out if he might be that good.

It's a really, really, low bar. It doesn't take much to rise above it. For the love of Christmas, let's see what the kid's got, no?

4 carries for 11 yards.

Who said he had great vision?

There was a rumor on twitter this morning that he was seen at TIAA bank field this morning. No idea if it's true, but you need to consider that it may be, and also that he is RETIRED by his own choosing.

I'm only messing I know he is just a body, but couldn't we have gotten a guy with a smidge of quickness just to be different from what we got? I'll have to see if I can borrow the ol' spidah chart of evaluation excellence, fax in a couple ideas to Dave.

Slim pickings on RBs that are speedy and can pick up a blitzing LB in week 5 of regular season.

Run that fax by me before you send it out - I'd like to compare notes.
Cool

That cone time really doesn't bode well, BTW, but plenty of guys outplay their drill times.  Hopefully he's one of them.
hes retired cuz he didnt get a deal or team he wanted

and we dont need a guy with speed we need a pounder between the tackles, something yeldon can not do... guess we will see, thing about RB is, it is the easiest position to find a gem that no one knew about, they just need an opportunity

im way more concerned with the offensive line and us having no starting QB
I wonder what it would take to get Shady McCoy?
He's what we need. North and South. Physical. A little bit of shake to him.

The next four games are going to be interesting. Offense needs to develop some level of consistency and balance.

Championship!
This guy might turn out to be ok. He might be better than Brandon Wilds.

But interesting to hear another team with super bowl aspirations (the Eagles) are trying to fill their gap at RB by pursuing Bell and McCoy.

Maybe we don’t have a shot at either of those and maybe Fournette is back sooner than week 10 (after the bye) but if the lack of a RB is going to seriously hurt our chances of a playoff run, maybe we could have been a little more ambitious?

figures.
Never seen this guy before but we had to bring in someone. Good luck to the kid.
Wonder if they'll sign someone else at RB, Yeldon is banged up and Wilds is far from being a reliable third option at the moment.

If we had to trade for someone I hope they do it for a LT, the OL is banged up as well and if there's any chance we can get a Joe Staley or something I hope they pull the trigger.

No idea what they'll do at TE, we are super thin there as well...

Walker and Richardson at tackle, maybe bring up McDermott from the PS if needed. At TE, Grinnage made the PS, but I wonder if Orndoff is still around? He seemed to flash a bit in the preseason. I'd rather have some veterans, but there aren't that many viable options this time of year.

I agree with Krayz again.

Also- I, too, wonder what was wrong with Darkwa...maybe injury or just way out of shape. He pounded it for the NYG last year and gained 750 yds.

FWIW, Scott Orndoff is a FA according to Wiki.

Yeah, I thought Darkwa looked pretty good last year, and he's young.  I'm surprised he's out of the league right now.
Another former Gamecock. Don't get too excited boys
