"Charles (5-feet-11, 1999 pounds), originally a third-round selection by Kansas City in the 2008 NFL Draft, has rushed for 7,556 yards and 44 touchdowns in 10 NFL seasons."
This guy is going to be a bulldozer with his size. I say we hand the ball off to him every play.
He’ll be tough to tackle at that weight. Or run for that matter.
Man, he really put on some weight since being cut. Must be training with Mojo

Or the Julius Thomas Diet.

I was doing so well at forgetting all about that particular disappointment.

The best signing possible, given the circumstances, but I still wish we'd bring in some O-Linemen.

I'm a little bit surprised they haven't - but I suppose it speaks to how they feel about Wells' injury and whatever potential they think they have beyond Wells/Walker.
i.e. Richardson, or displacing a starter from elsewhere on the line to play LT and inserting Shatley at C or G. Which I'd be surprised by, but it's possible.

Speaking of....he’s currently a FA......

As long as Charles has something left in the tank, which isn't a given at this point, this is an ideal pick up for three reasons.
1. Can spell Yeldon as the main back while Fournette is out
2. Is a good pass protector - could be vital in the next few weeks
3. When Fournette does come back, Charles should be able to take the Grant role in the 2 back sets we've all been waiting for. He was always such a dangerous player in space.
Once again, it all comes down to whether he is still at least half the player he was in his prime.
Does anyone remember when we signed Anthony Johnson? Way back when, 2001 maybe? Chris Howard fumbled his way off the roster and his replacement, Chad Dukes, was ineffective? Remember how Johnson was a solid change of pace and receiving option for us the rest of the year? I think that's the general role in mind for Charles.

Hell where's Gerhart?
That guy got paid an awful lot to do nothing!

If i remember right we picked up Gray after the Pats cut him after a 200yard+ day, he did ok but we only had him for the last 2/3 games.
Plenty of teams pickup castoffs who make a play or two at a crucial stage. What i like is we have an older guy, not just another youngster and he can help Blake and the O line.
Honestly if we can beat Dallas this week I like our chances to hit 6/7 wins before Pittsburgh comes to town, which should hopefully be when we get fournette back. I'm still really worried about the o line though.
I really like this signing. It is very unjaguar like which is the besst part of it! my bet is if we can get Charles in some space or open lanes he can still be dangerous.
He's a good pass catcher out of the backfield. He's been pretty banged up the last 3 years. I guess the experience will help if he can stay healthy. Under the circumstances probably the best signing available as a Grant replacement.
Really curious as to what kind of shape he is in. He stated that he has been working out, but what else is he supposed to say. I think if he is healthy and is in football shape, he could outshine TJ. I know management has said that TJ is still their primary back and Charles is basically signed to be a backup to Yeldon, but we'll see about that. There is some skill sets that Charles possesses that if he is healthy, IMO makes him a better lead back (while Fournette) is out.
I like the pick up. Dude still has some juice and hasn’t taken many hits the past few years. He has an opportunity to put up some nice numbers
i'm excited for this signing, Charles was explosive when he was healthy.
This guy was #12 on the Top 100 players in the NFL just 3 years ago.
So you think he regrets his choice now? Lol he wanted to come to a contender ???
