He showed us a lot 2 years ago. Many were in love with him. He has power and determination to no end. Absolutely can be. #BadIntentionsRunner #NaturalFighter

Agreed.  Taking a running back high in the NFL draft can be risky and I think people are seeing Fred Taylor but Fred was a lot more explosive.  We'll see, hopefully we can get him some help by going OL in the next couple of rounds.

Recent history: Zeke didn't prove so risky, though with an exceptional line. Fournette is more talented physically, also arguably more powerful than Fred. Fred's explosiveness was transcendent indeed; Fournette can generate explosion.
Ya he is awesome, as long as he has a hole the size of Florida to run through.... And let's hope nobody rolls on his ankle. meh

Dude Cook has just as many if not more injurys then Fournette he'll be fine.
4net is a monster. I remember watching him the first time in college and thinking "my god, hes unstoppable. Defenders just bounce off him like he has a force field".

I thought it was Witness and Sulk..
Our backfield just got an major upgrade. W/4Nette and Ivory being that "One Two" punch and Yeldon being the change of pace/third down back, we're going to create some extremely sore throats from now on.

NH3...
in an NFL where tackling is at its worst probably ever, having a hard to wrap up hard to tackle RB seems like a great thing to me.. Yeldon is this cutback lateral agility guy you speak of and I can't think of 1 time he made more out of nothing... he ALWAYS goes down to the first guy who contacts him, no matter how little that contact is.

Ivory showed you can run behind this O-line, but he always got hurt... now we have a 10x better version of Ivory, and our O-line will be better just by having Linder back, Albert, and having the Joke-L gone

what a douche bag. He hasn't even been on the team 12 hours and this is all you can come up with... nice

This is so true, the NFL is a passing league and it could be we are in for a re-emergence of the power back. But he is a one cut guy and those that say he has wiggle are nuts so he has to have holes. Everything is either one cut or trying to bounce it wide. Maybe have him return punts where one cut can win a game. But in the end he will go as far as Blake allows. Its pass to set up the run. If Blake can pass and keep safeties off the line, then LF has a chance to be a good one. If Blake is Mr.Overthrow then Fournette will be a bust.
RB on the roster

Leonard Fournette

Corey Grant

Bronson Hill

Chris Ivory

Daryl Richardson

TJ Yeldon

And FB

Tommy Bohanon

If they keep the FB Bohanon do they keep only 3 RB or still keep 4.

Double post
Quote:He's a 4 down back. Don't fool yourself. I linked a video for you in the other thread. He has a nasty spin move, he outran DBs, he can take it 80 yards from shotgun. He can catch 1-handed. He can bully his way over smaller players. He can jump from 5 yards out to score. He can leap over piles at the goal line.

Remember in super tecmo bowl on the Super Nintendo? When you can press X and he will dive over the pile. Well he was doing that.

He never got caught from behind. And he has a nasty little juke.

Although I have been very critical of the selection that is one thing have noticed watching cuts of him. He doesn't get caught from behind.
Fournette doesn't need an O-line. Dude's a beast!

Anyone see Roy Miller's tweet last night? "So they drafted Chris Ivory?" lol.

I've never seen so much hate for a guy that is an A+ football player.
Quote:Who's going to want to take on Ivory's contract though? After this season, his contract only continues to get higher in $$.

There's an out in the contract after this season though. It'll have a $3mil dead cap hit, but it'd be better then paying him $6mil+++ per year to be a back up RB.

I see us rolling with all 4 of them this season and moving on from Ivory next year.

Yeldon is the 3rd down back. He's far and away the best pass catching RB and best pass blocking RB on this roster. Even with Fournette added.
His contract isnt terrible for a team. You just cant cut him this season unless you want dead money. Next season, they can cut him and owe him nothing. If a RB need team in a win now situation was interested, I could see a trade happening. We wont get much, but we do get him off the roster.

With that being said,  a trade is unlikely and you're probably right. We keep all of 4 of Fournette, Ivory, Yeldon and Grant. I just have a hard time seeing Ivory get on the field with Fournettes style and production.

. It's kind of sad isn't it. Even if people don't agree with the pick, they could at least be a little bit excited during the off-season I mean it's not like we're losing games yet LOL. But there's always hate constantly built Up in this Fanbase. Sometimes I can't tell if it's people trying to call things before they happen so they can play the " I told you so " card if they are right, or if people are just trolling, but it is a little bit lame.

Gus-era players seem to really dislike the Jags as of late. Guess the worst coach of all time would make any player of the organization sour.
