I understand options were very limited but Flowers has been really bad. Him being lazy (his comments on Calais are a perfect display of a guy who hasn't even studied film) didn't help. Hopefully he somehows focus and shows improvement if called-up.
And above all let's hope we start to get the running game going so that pass protection will become less of an issue.

Still wondering if they'll be exploring any trade options by the way.
Not a lot of choices for sure.....we'll know in the coming weeks if he "see's the light" and
decides to man up.
Dolphins just released OT Sam Young. Can't find any highlights or discussion of his strengths/weaknesses anywhere online, but might be better option.

I would just keep accumulating cheap LT's and hope to God, one of them plays decent enough to keep from being a major liability to the offense.

At the expense of what roster spots?

Quote:When Adam Gase said Laremy Tunsil‘s injury “shook us up” after last week’s come-from-ahead loss to the Bengals, Sam Young should have known what was coming. The Dolphins announced Saturday they cut Young, who replaced Tunsil at left tackle in the third quarter and had a hand in two defensive touchdowns scored by the Bengals.

Perhaps not.
I was really high on Flowers coming out of Miami. I believe he was a former teammate of Brandon Linder who played guard next to him. I feel like playing with Norwell and Linder next to him he might be more comfortable. There's a lot less pressure in JAX compared to NY. He hasn't been amazing but he was solid enough last year. The Giants are a mess this year.

At the expense of guys we already know, that suck. That would be Walker. I have no idea how he made the roster in the first place. He was terrible in the preseason. Once we got down to him, I knew we were screwed.
Definitely nowhere near the level of his draft position but he has to be better than a 3rd stringer right?

I don't know.

Walker vs the Chiefs looked on a similar level of bad as Flowers vs the Jags.  Hard to tell, but I'm praying for miracles at LT right now. It's gonna get ugly against the cowboys.  I imagine a TE, Bohanon or Yeldon will be over there a lot today to help who ever gets the start.

Richardson quietly coming along would be our saving grace - but I'm not optimistic. If he's active today - that may be a positive sign of sorts.

You'd think so, but the Giants didn't deem him to be better than their third stringers either...
Now we are definitely screwed. As much as Blake hasn’t performed well recently, poor guy is gonna be running for his life today
I think Flowers will help in the run game
Flowers is liquid hot garbage - hated him coming out of college - he's always been an athlete with incredible size and strength but that cannot be your only skill. Honestly should not have been a 1st round prospect. Jerry Reese is a very strange case of General Manager, he could find some studs but man did he make some mind boggling moves. 2015 had some great players coming out as well. That's what happens when you try to make a need fit the pick. You get Blake Bortles.
It was a bit in the air that a change at LT was coming when Marrone at the start of the week said Walker put in a lot of effort and tried his best but sometimes that's not enough. Well, fingers crossed that this move somehow works and helps the oline.
Flowers has had enough time to prepare for this game so let’s see what the kid has to offer before writing him off for his play with the Giants.
He was good before getting injuried. Hope it's not too bad.
