Snowy, look beyond the opportunity to pat yourself on the back over some (misreported) information. With our current roster, who is coaching this team to the playoffs, let alone the SB? Were you banging this drum the week we beat the Patriots?

I think we should add Burt Reynolds into the mix.

I have also heard the "Macho Man" Randy Savage is thriving as a DB coach right now.

Worth a look.

My main point was i said from the begaining doug isn't the right HC for the team. Jags should of got john gruden,yes the raiders are bad,but they don't have as much talent on the team. Jags have lots of talent. Gruden took a very talanted defense to the Super bowl,and won it. Bucs had brd johnson as a qb then,who was that good. Jags would be 5-1 with gruden,thier only lose would've been to the undeafted chiefs.

Gruden?! My god Wolfie. Gruden is an awful coach. You realize he traded away a top 5 defensive player in his prime right? Gruden won with Dungys players.

Gruden was the answer? Lmao... 70% of the team wouldn't even make Grudens age requirement. His teams are always the oldest in the league.

Lots of hoopla surrounding Gruden taking someone else's team to the superbowl and beating a team he had insider knowledge on to bring home the trophy.

I liked the Gruden QB camp stuff he did in his "retirement", but other than that I'm not convinced this guy is going to do anything in today's NFL. And considering that Carr is legit crying in the middle of games now... I'd say it's way too early to say we should've hired Gruden over Marrone... lol.

Gruden sucks, always has. Won with teams others built. The game left him behind a long time ago.

I will just say this, over the past 2 seasons, the Jags have:
1 Fourth Quarter Comeback/Game-winning drive (26th in NFL)
2 Wins in games in which they trailed at ANY time (30th in NFL)

To be honest, this actually makes our win totals much more impressive... It's also pretty depressing. If this isn't testimony to why Bortles isn't the answer I don't know what is.

But I think this gets to more than just the QB. Basically the stats I was looking at point to the fact that more often than not, whoever wins the 1st quarter wins the game. And most of the exceptions to that result in the Jaguars losing the lead rather than coming back.

This underscores a coaching staff/culture that:
1. Is not good at changing course on game day.
2. Is not good at stopping momentum.
3. Cannot overcome a bad game script, or playing "your way"

NFL will always be a chess match. There are times where you will be at a disadvantage, but you have right the ship.

I mean when was the last time, you felt a Jaguars played better than their talent? Did they really last year? Given how much money and All-Pros are on defense?

Any player that got better typically is called a diamond-in-the-rough, or has personal extreme work ethic on their own.

aka... terrible at adjustments ... my #1 gripe with the staff

Jags look just like the doug marone bills did now. fighting amogenst themselves. I saw a couple jags players get into a scuffle on defense in the 4tth qtr.

the loseing is the same reason it has always been a lousy HC. I told you all he will look like a good HC to start with first year,but after that team will fall apart,and its happened. Jags need a real HC like a bill cower.
