We had zero depth behind our starters. Nothing. I had hoped our starters would stay healthy, but that has been anything but the case this season and the lack of depth is killing us. Norwell has not been as advertised when we signed him either.
This aint about depth. We're on the third LT but in reality, there are teams in this league that would kill to have 4 of 5 starters healthy. They actually did okay in the run game early, The QB has to find a way to convert 3rd and 3.
Wait... You aren't referring to our OL as being 4 of 5 starters as healthy are you? Because that's LOL at best.
Norwell was in a boot all of this week... Linder has been in and out of games with a knee and back injuries/spasms. Cann missed a game and time with a triceps injury and Parnell has been dealing with a knee injury all season (pretty sure it was a knee, but I might be wrong on the specific injury).
This OL is the farthest thing from healthy...
What I see is that we can't beat teams with mobile QB's. We beat all three pocket passer QB's so far.
I'm going to wait a little longer before i hit the panic button.....but,
this is not what i expected after 6 games.
Going to the 'horns game next sunday and i sure hope it's not this ugly.

If we can’t contain Dak gotta wonder what Watson will do

Westbrook is our best WR
Taven got turned around bad on a QB keeper.
Defense played aweful except for Yan
Injuries and losing Arob and Hurns are just too much to over come. Bortles is what he is, just a flinger.
Same record last year. There’s still time to win the division but we need to get on a roll. It’s not getting any easier going forward.
Guys stop with the coach is turrible crap. The players got spanked today.
The real problem is that this team for some reason whenever we have a good year, we keep the status quo. Look at when we traded up for Harvey, we kept garrard and co hoping they can keep the same magic (albeit harvey was horrible). The great teams slightly change their schemes every year. Not whole sale changes. We seem to just like if the defense was good last year, it will remain the same. Coaches in this league are too smart to not change anything and try to keep the exact same scheme and personnel and not regress.
I also noticed that this tean struggles against Mobile QBs. Which doesnt look good for this sunday against Watson.
Injuries, lack of depth and lack of fire is what I saw yesterday. It's all catching up now with who is left on the team to play and the coaches. We still control our own destiny though.
This division is up and down. An 8 - 8 team could possibly win the South this year. And I mean that. No bull [BLEEP] with that statement. All I know is that the bye week can't get here fast enough. If they can manage to beat the next two teams or at least split it and enter the bye week 5 - 3 or 4 - 4. I'll take it.

The only saving grace there is that houston's O-Line won't buy Watson as much time as Dallas' line bought Dak.
It's a concern, but they can scheme for it if they wise up a bit, and they'll get more pressure on Watson.
My concern is not letting the slot (or Z) receiver slip into wide open gaps in the zone like Beasley did all day yesterday.
Those plays come open quickly and the tinhorns could easily emulate that with Coutee.

Again, this all falls on the coaching being pathetic. They want to force feed Fournette (if he can actually play) and Moncrief, but don't want to give the ball to people who are actually producing... AKA Yeldon and Westbrook..
What's puzzling is that this is happening even when it's still early in the game.
We were 3-0 yesterday, second possession and Yeldon just got 6 yards on a first down run. For whatever reason on second down we try that run with Niles Paul that got injured and lose 3 yards.
Same thing that happened against the Chiefs, we run the field with Yeldon, we need a yard and half for the down at the 3 yard line and start throwing the ball knowing we'd go for it on 4th down anyway.
Even when we decide to throw, Moncrief is like the primary target on 50/50 balls, like last week against KC in the end zone. I mean the guy caught what...15 passes over 50 targets? Something like that (he was 15 out of 45 before the Cowboys I think) and for whatever reason coaches like our chances throwing that kind of routes/throws to him.
Injuries and poor Oline play are a concern but man the coaches are going against their own identity as well at times.

^ The game next week sure has become a very important one now (Who would've thought that a few weeks ago?).
The Jags need this one badly,, or at least can't afford to take a Loss in the division right now.
"IF" the Jags were to lose, standings would look:
Tinhorns 4-3 (2-1 div)
Jaguars 3-4 (0-2 div)
Not good.
Jags 1-3 in their last 4 games, looking terrible in those losses. Houston winners of 3 in a row, although just barely scraping by Indy, Dallas, Buffalo for those victories.
I expect the Jags to bounce back this week and get back on track for the division title. They need it and have to get it. It's not going to be easy with the Jags' O-line issues right now,, but they gotta do it.
I think this next game is a must win for a number of reasons. It’s a Division game and to get this team back on track.
If we got Fournette I’m predicting a win. If not we’re gonna get blowed out.
We have to find a way to target Westbrook more than 10 times. I’m telling you guys.

I don’t understand why we don’t use Jack or Telvin in a spy role. After getting torched by our 3rd straight mobile QB maybe they’ll wise up with Watson coming to town.
My biggest issue is if the Oline is beat up and not performing well, why the hell are we keeping our mobile qb in the pocket?
This has been the biggest mistake made by Hackett the last 2 games.

They were "spying" in zone, but they kept leaving their zone when the QB moved.
1 of the TDs, Telvin (I think) is underneath in zone and it taking the WR away. Some reason he moves towards the middle, either because of head movement or scramble, and he leaves the WR a huge hole. The safety looks at him like what in the world are you doing.

They never move him much. I don't know why, but play action rollout should be a stable of this offense. It would be a lot better play than the screens and all the pick 6s from those Bortles has thrown.

Hackett used the rollout in 6 or 7 games last year pretty well. Needs to come back. Buy the guy some time any way possible.

Yep which is weird that he always goes away from what is working. They change the gameplan too much from game to game.

I like that they are willing to mix it up from opponent to opponent, but can we bring back the good stuff when we need it, please?
I've been a staunch Hackett supporter, but he's left me scratching my head a bit too much in three games so far this year. I'm still on board - but I'm really hoping he does more to counteract the bad o-line situation moving forward.

My biggest frustration with that is how we use Bortles running. Some games we use it, others not. We could add a few option plays or even just a 5 wide, deep routes and clear room but it's a weapon we don't really use very well.

Since the O-line is compromised right now, the passing game needs to be heavy on quick release stuff. Get Blake out of the pocket. Even add in several RPOs. Something. If an armchair OC can see it, why can't the pro? In other words, the Cowboys did that for Dak against us. And Blake doesn't compare unfavorably to Dak.
