Lol people still on denial with Cousins.

He's been a top 5 QB this season no matter how much you guys try to deny it

Who were the folks on here that didn't how the cap worked and were crying about losing players?

Dude, Cousins is making $20 million more over the next three years than Alex Smith is. That's a pretty big gap in pay for a somewhat less gap in performance.

There is a notable difference in their performance though. Cousins was a free agent so naturally his leverage and price was higher.
We get through this year, fire Hackett, get a new QB whether it be through FA or the draft and create a whole new offense.

100 times better? lol

Cousins has been downright elite this season. Smith has been average.

Cousins was pressured on 49% of his dropbacks and posted a 75% completion percentage, 359 yards and 2 TDs. 2nd in the league in passing yards.

Yep I have been unable to keep from laughing when people suggest Cousins would be killed behind our line. Ours has been bad, many olines have been worse...including the Vikings. Can you imagine how much this board would lose their [BLEEP] if one of our oline was pushed back into Bortles as quickly and as effortlessly as what Rankins did on his sack yesterday?

Lol. People would lose their minds.

Facts is we have 4 starters playing, but people want to cry about injuries. They just suck. Period. Even with that Cousins would have a great year behind this line. I'm not even a Cousins fan that's just a fact.

Classic case of them not knowing who was coming and our OL has been blown up like that plenty this season. Maybe not straight up the center, because Linder isn't that awful, but I've seen both Norwell and Cann let guys run straight past them multiple times.
Sure you'll get free rushes like the sack Jack got like that have been "run straight past them". But we haven't had a guy get utterly ragdolled like that.

He was sitting back on his heels because he had no clue who was coming. Just like his LG had no clue. They're literally standing there with a ? above their head. Norwell, Cann and Parnell have all been beat ugly like that and we don't even need to get started on Walker.

In hindsight this makes a lot of sense, but also remember that trade was leaks on about Jan 30th. Less than 2 week after the Bortles, played very well against the Steelers and Patriots.

That means they had discussions on that trade for some time. Also, Washington had to give up a decent CB and 3rd. It would have taken the Jag's 2nd round pick at least.

All I'm saying is that, while it all makes sense now. Trading away a 2nd round pick for a 33-34 yo QB who was not a definite improvement over what BB did in the playoffs in the past month and has the same number of playoff wins in his career, would have been difficult sell. Plus it would not have saved any money.

Not everyone can be Elway and discard Tebow for Peyton Manning after a career-threatening injury.
