I still want to swap my S6 edge plus for one once they fix the battery problem

They did fix it. After fixing it, one blew up on a Southwest flight, one blew up on a guy's nightstand, and one blew up in a little girl's hand. RIP Note 7 (and probably RIP Samsung Galaxy Note phones entirely).

Samsung will be implementing "software updates" designed to force you to return the phone. There are rumblings on industry and enthusiast sites that Samsung will ultimately push a software update that completely bricks the phone and renders it unusable.

On my phone, can't link easily. Google "Samsung to brick Note 7". Speculation goes back to September that a firmware brick is Sammy's big red panic button.

It's still the hottest product on the market.

...  and the cavemen spent years attempting to create fire.  Little did they know they just had to buy a Samsung Note 7 and it would have saved them a lot of time and effort.

in all seriousness, catching fire on a plane is kind of crazy.
