I really hate the slow crawl of the off-season.  I'm really looking forward to the draft, and go over ever possible mock draft daily. The name I've seen the most lately is Jawaan Taylor.  From what I've read, he's a top 10 prospect in the draft, and to the non-fan, a big need for us. I'm of the belief that the o-line be could be upgraded in the second.  In my perfect scenario, we trade down with a QB or Defense needy team, and pick up at least an additional 3rd, and grab TJ Hockenson/Fant.  The only defensive guy I'd take at 7 if he's available is Quinnen Williams (the big 2 edge rushers will be long gone).  In the second, I'd go RG, and in the third, QB and then WR. Mecole Hardman and Grier  would be 3rd round targets if they were avalable.  What are your thoughts on a perfect outcome?

In your scenario, who plays RT?
Ideally......

1. Hockenson TE
2. Cody Ford OG/OT or Chris Lindstrom OG/OT
3. Tytus Howard OT or Chuma Edoga OT
3. Juan Thornhill S or Amani Hooker S
4. Darrell Henderson RB or Trayveon Williams RB
6. Jazz Ferguson WR or Marcus Jones DE
7. Ronheem Bingham DE or KeeSean Johnson WR

Nightmare scenario would be to ignore the RG situation or the TE situation or be to draft another RT only type guy, who couldn't play LT in case of injuries. If we address these three areas (TE, RG and Swing Tackle) with good players, then I'm good.
We drafted Richardson last year, so give him a shot. Cedric could also fill in. I'm not saying ignore RT altogether, I think wee need RG more, and there are none worth drafting in the 1st.

Richardson is a 4th round pick coming off a season ending injury that hasn't played a down.  Cann isnt that good but he has had stretched were he played at a decent level.  RT is definitely more of a need than RG, although RG is still a need
I don’t know why but I want Metcalf, and I know he comes with red flags. But I still want to get him.

I’d hate to spend a first round pick on him but man if he turns out to be Megatron 2.0....

I’m ok with Hockenson and I’m ok with a Safety in round 1.
No project olinemen in the 1st - I'd like to see us draft either the best pass rusher/dlineman on their board or the best skilled position player on their (our) board when we're on the clock. Or trade back. I trust the process. Unless its some project olineman

Also- we should go offense the whole draft, save for 1 potentially elite pass rusher/dlineman

That is not even an option IMO.
My fear is that we fall into BAP at 7 and get another DT. BAP is a great concept, but I think our needs are higher and can be met at 7 with an OL, TE, or hell another edge rusher. But please for the love of God, no inside d- linemen lol.

Except for Quinnen Williams or Ed Oliver.

Honestly, I know this isn't smart of me, because they could be such great players, but no lol. I know, I know. But I feel like we need to spend that pick on a higher need. If we didn't take Bryan last year, I might be ok with it. But I don't like it this year. But that's probably why I'm not a GM lol

And that's how the Jags ended up passing on Big Ben.

Quinnen is an elite prospect and potentially the best player in this draft. If he falls to #7, you run to the podium. Then you fill in your draft after even though you weren't planning on taking him.

Round 1- Q
Round 2- Risner
Round 3- Knox
Round 3B- Moreau
I like Oliver over Williams

You would!

Just kidding.  I really don't know either player that well aside from what I've read here.
Either way, if a potentially elite D-Lineman fell to us, I'd be fine with us taking that shot rather than taking a potentially very good offensive prospect.

I tell you what though, I'm very uncomfortable with our current O-line...  Completely unproven 'talent' at RT (or a first round bust) and a LT coming back from a serious knee injury to his outside leverage leg?  Color me very concerned.

Go watch their interviews.  Oliver is much smarter than Williams. William's thought Georgia was the sunshine state, that's just 1 example.  Oliver also tested better

Joey Bosa didn't know Jacksonville was on the coast

Thankfully there's no written exam before the ball is snapped. Smile

No but if 2 players are close to equal and one seems intellegent and one not so much, give me the smart one.  Most of the great players were also smart.
My draft nightmare are our Draft Day hats. Good lawd.

You literally have nothing to back this up. Also kinda funny you misspelled intelligent.

And you're saying Williams isn't smart because he didn't know Florida was the sunshine state? Do you know every states nickname?
