Man, I love that quote. using 'my' instead of 'the' when referring to the WR corps indicates he takes full ownership of their training, development, and performance.  We got ourselves a heckuva coach in McCardell. And how motivating do you think that line of 'just another body' or "the only reason we signed him" will be to Pryor?

If that dude needs a chip on his shoulder to get it in gear, Keenan just gave him a wagonload of chips.

I know it doesn't sound very pleasant, however, when you put it in context it wasn't so bad. He was actually responding to the suggestion that Pryor's signing was an indication of something. I forget what that something was, but McCardell was saying, that's not it, we just needed another body. That said, the way they quoted this in the article it sounds like a slap in the face.

Speaking of that, I've been noticing a tendency in the Jaguars media to almost resort to fake news. Not like they're way, but they'll misquote stuff and I almost wonder if it's intentional. When talking to Marqise Lee, it was a reporter who asked "100 percent?", and his response was more like he might not be 100 percent. It was a totally misleading article on jaguars.com as if to make Lee sound more like he's definitely on track.
I thought McCardell was refreshingly transparent. He outlined positives of Pryor's addition but also made it clear he'll need to show if he's more than another healthy body in the WR room.

The Lee article seemed clear enough to me as well. They quoted Lee directly saying that he was currently slightly ahead of schedule in his rehab work. And when asked if he'd be 100% by week one he was honest saying he didn't know about that.
He later said his goal was to be out there producing as much as possible.

Now, if you're taking too much away from just the headline, then yeah, the headlines may seem misleading.
It's unfortunately the nature of sports coverage everywhere these days.

Yeah, it was the headline so I should be careful to blame the right person. That is, not Oesher, but the Jaguars guy who writes the headlines.
Better late than never I guess. Wanted him last offseason too.
Does anybody think he’s already the best WR on the team?

None of our guys has had a 1000 yard season.

Westbrook is definitely better.
We'll see if any of Chark, Lee, or Cole outplay him as well. Wouldn't surprise me.

Pryor has been here two days.
Let's see him catch something against Bouye or Ramsey in pads before we trip over ourselves giving him premature accolades.

He's talented but I wonder if his best days or behind him.  He hasn't shown much the last couple of years. Also I think Lee (when he's back) and Dede are both probably better right now. It's nice to have a receiver his size for red zone options though.

That's not saying much about our other receivers. If Pryor was that good, he wouldn't be an journeyman. He has been on eight teams in seven years. Make that nine teams in eight years. We'll find out what he has left in the tank during the pre-season.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...
His route running is abysmal. I don't think he can remember plays that well either. But he does have the athleticism.
