There is an element to this as well ^
Since Carlyon left the times union and went to 1010xl (where he writes a Jags blog) his tactic has changed dramatically.
He's leaning more and more toward click bait.

He called them old clowns, he hasn't exactly hid it.
I also don't think Jalen is going to be a long term Jaguar. Even if a contract is offered, if we keep losing he isn't going to want to stay, and I'd say that's more likely than the alternative.
Hays mistake is that culture isn't created by the front office. It's created by the locker room.
Jalen has clapped back at them on a couple of occasions, that's what he does. If the Jags want to keep him, they hold the cards as long as they have the franchise tag available. I think they'll get a deal done next year just like they will with Ngakoue before the season starts. Right now it's just so much posturing.

Exactly, he hasn't hid his feelings with the front office.
Usually I would say yeah they hold the cards but it's also Jalen, he can kick up a huge fuss for them if he really wants out on the team , and eventually the team would cave and move him. I don't think he wants to commit long term to a long time losing team so get our Ws up and we should be fine.
He'll hopefully outlast Coughlin
How does this mean players aren't happy with the FO? Looks to me like a flashy player that likes the spotlight doing a flashy spotlight getting thing. It's his way of saying I'm money and want a bigger contract. That somehow means many top players are unhappy with the FO?

He sure as hell didn't back it up last season. Ran his mouth and then got burned quite often. I'm growing tired of his act. Flame away.

He was clearly playing injured most of the season and still was a top cb in the league. I edited that out of my post almost instantly but you quoted me pretty fast I guess. I still stand by that just didn't think it went along with what I was really trying to say in my comment so I took it out.

That's the best comment on this thread. And it's true. The locker room is where the culture is created.

He's not Deion Sanders but he's certainly still one of the top tier cover corners in the NFL. This entire team failed to back up anything last season. It wasn't all on him. As long as he's not getting thrown into jail or facing game suspensions for conduct detrimental to the team he can continue to be a diva all he wants.
You take him out of this secondary though and it'll be open season back there.

Coughlin is still stuck in his own old, outdated ways and the players probably don't want to deal with him.
That's part of it, the other part is the players have seen this front office whiff on the QB position time and time again. Passing on guys like Watson and Mahomes while sticking with Bortles for way too long, coddling Bortles and giving him an unnecessary/undeserved extension etc. This front office has spent lavishly on free agents under this regime over the years but doesn't want to pony up the necessary cash to extend one of their on in Yan. That's exactly the type of guy you WANT to extend, it sends a really bad message to the team. I don't want to go on a tangent but the Jaguars front office is about as incompetent is it gets
Tough discipline sucks when you're coming off a 5-11 season. It's much more rewarding when you reap the rewards and go deep into the playoffs. Winning changes everything.

Honestly, I don't think this team is going anywhere with Jalen or without him. I think the NFL has huge problems overall and the next CBA is going to burn the fans even further. The older I get the less I live or die by the team. I will still enjoy the actual games but I just can't get into all the drama. It feels like the game has moved on and isn't for me anymore. Movies, Culture and day to day drama aren't for me anymore. Heck even my job is against me. All of this swirling stuff has eeked into all aspects of day to day life. I miss the simple escapism provided by football.
I am looking forward to seeing well thrown passes at least.

I hear you. That's why I like getting out at least once a week on the water to do some fishing. It's just a nice escape to think for a bit and just focus on things that are truly important. Such as hot chicks fishing in bikini's.

He played through injury the ENTIRE season, and when asked about it in the locker room he'd brush it off and say "I'm fine."
He wasn't fine. He limped off the field dozens of times and wasn't himself. It was very obvious if you paid attention.

LOL. Yeah OK Sure. Then here's the thing... if you are hurt and not able to perform at your best... maybe stop running your mouth? Just a thought. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong this year.

I.... don't get out much. But when I do I tend to get [BLEEP] faced and make everyone laugh uncomfortably.
