I really don't know why I like you Teal Time  :pirate:

But I do...
Just got back from McDonald's....their QB machine was down.
Jaguarrior, you are bringing the truth in this thread. This team will never take the next step with Bortles at QB. The sooner the franchise moves on, the better. Even a short term fix for 2017 before finding our guy in 2018 is better than giving Mr Pick 6 abother year. Only good thing I can see is if he pick 6s us to the #1 pick, but it also wastes a development year for the young talent on offense.
Quote:Teddy has taken his team to the playoffs. He got hurt in Minnesota. No reason to think it would of happen if drafted by the Jags.

Geno is a jerk, but you would of begged for him to replace Bortles Bot-1000 last year of the bench. I believe he'd win an objective competition with Bortles Bot-1000.

The Future is desperate. We'll even take Trubisky or better yet convert McCaffrey to QB, if that's what it take to wake you guys up. Just give us a better option at the most important position on the field. Not hard people.  Wallbash
He would of broke his leg his rookie year if we drafted him.  Our oline was the worst in the league a couple years ago and it hasnt gotten much better since.  Not to mention we didnt have AP and that great defense either.  Teddy would be in a permanent wheel chair if we drafted him.   Lol at Geno

Why not convert Fournette to QB?

I figured since everyone believes he's worth a 1st round pick, you'd probably entertain the idea of converting him to QB. Either way, I want another option for next season and so does the the future. Where's T2 Arnie when you need him.
QB at 4? No. 2nd round lets do it depending on who's still available

Thanks Jerrad. I really love the way Darnold throws. it looks really pure - almost like a catapult when he slangs it. But who are we kidding. We never suck enough to get into good position to collect picks. Besides, from what I see, Watson and Mahomes are comparable if not better than the rest of next years crop, with an exception to Darnold.
It's interesting, we suck? Sure. But we have this scapegoat attitude where we have to put someone's feet to the coals constantly. It's Olsen, so we fire him. It's Gus, we fire him. It's bottles, let's trade him. Robinson is losing it, let's not resign him.

I'm just going to let the guys who get payed to make decisions do the work and hope they don't always base their actions on what other people believe. That's all you can do really, well, that or complain constantly. My way is easier I think.

Bird legs would have gotten injured no matter where he went. He has what looks like a career-ending injury without any contact.

One of the biggest concerns with him was if his knees would hold up in the NFL, spoiler alert they didn't it had nothing to do with who drafted him.

Dear Idiot,

Thanks for the helpful advice you sent us all those years ago. What you neglected to mention, of course, was which of the quarterbacks we should have wasted the fourth overall pick of the draft on. Because, as you know, the evaluation of many draftniks that none of them were worthy of a high first round pick turned out to be spot on, and the best quarterback now was one of those taken in the fourth round - sure, maybe we should have taken him in the third. If we'd known then we would have. Unfortunately since all we had to go on were the message board ramblings of someone clearly addled by exposure to illegally obtained positron inverter couplings from an unsanctioned time travel experiment we didn't. If you want to do something useful with that damned time machine, go kidnap a young Brett Favre and bring him forwards in time so he's eligible for the draft in 2023. And for crying out loud, let us know what assumed name he's using.

Yours Faithfully,

The Jaguars of the Future

Yet still, he has won more games in only 2 years of play than the Jaguars as an organization have won over the past 5 years, combined.

At some point, we have to realize just how empty we look redirecting our angst at a guy who has nothing to do with this team. Just because our choice at QB has proven he can't win...
Reply.

Thank you for your request. Sorry it didn't work out, much like your career at Bleacher Report.

Yes. Let's pick another QB this year. What? They're NFL ready? Oh. Let them learn on the fly? Ok. Expect another losing season.

No. You let this season go with what you have. Hopefully trade down so we have a high pick next year, when the QB draft class should be better. IF the team has a strong stable of RBs, the OLine improves...BB will be serviceable.

There's no quick fix, magic bullet at the position.

Two years ago there were boners for Bortles all over the place. Last year shrinkage,Jerry,shrinkage. This is a defining year.

Let it play out. The D, on paper, should keep us in games where we don't need 35 points to win.

PS

You lost me when you said Geno Smith was a better option.

This should sum it up for you:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">What will more than likely happen:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">1. Garrett

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">2. Watson

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">3. Mahomes

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">4. Fournette/Thomas/Allen/Adams/Hooker/Lattimore/Howard in no particular order

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">All of these guys are good. This Draft is seriously loaded. In this scenario I think we come away with an awesome player regardless. I don't care about if we need the position or not. Players will get hurt, suspended or old. You can never anticipate what will happen. As long as they are talented and dependable, "Welcome to the team".

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">What I want to happen:

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">1. Garrett

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">2. Trubisky

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">3. Fournette

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">4. Watson, Mahomes

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">If Watson or Mahomes are there they should trade back for a package equal to last years top 2 picks. If not equal,
<span style="color:rgb(255,0,0);">make the pick
. Both QB's are better than last years options going 1 and 2. All of us with eye's and a brain can see that. No one said last years QB crop was weak but it was. The best player went in the 4th round. My point, don't listen to media guy's. They're just lion tamers in a circus. They're saying this is a weak class for a reason. Trust me, you don't want to go into next season with Bortles and the aforementioned QB's or Kaep are our best options. we will regret passing on them if they're there.Even 2015 was garbage time for Bortles. Go back an watch the horror show objectively if you don't believe me.
</span>

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Honestly, I don't care if they start Bortles next year even after picking a QB at 4. If he's better and winning Awesome. We got ourselves a QB, a talented backup and trading leverage for the future. you can always recoup the value of the top pick if they don't get to play because Bortles is winning. But if he's not, then what are you left with?

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">If this team wants to win they need to start making winning moves.
