If Ramsey plays, tell him he gets to match one on one CMC, and to erase him. That's what JR20 wanted right?

Have to be careful with that. They spread the ball around a lot. Usually I am a strict man to man fan on defense. But....

I think this is a game where they might actually want to run more zone against a young QB with ball security issues.

Bait him into some tight throws. Give the front four a chance to get after him and stuff McCaffrey.

My concern with man to man is them getting everyone moving in one direction and then finding soft spots in the opposite direction with misdirection routes and pick plays.

I feel this game will fall on mostly Jack and Williams' shoulders. Expect a lot of designed efforts to attack the middle of the defense in this one.

May see Harrison more involved in the box too with Olsen and McCaffrey to account for. Going to be a fun match up. Norv Turner is no slouch. Todd Wash has a lot of work to do.

Do we have an injury update on Ramsey?
Herndon had fits getting turned around by 32 year old less than a year recovered from achilles surgery Emmanuel Sanders. Jitterbugs like Moore and Samuel are going to be worse.

Really, really need Ramsey.

He's not practicing today because of the back.

His back is still giving him issues apparently.

Ugh. Makes me sick man. So we gain Oliver and now we're being overly careful with Minshew which is understandable for obvious reasons. But Dobbs getting 1st team reps? [BLEEP]. This is tough defense this weekend too. Ramsey needs to get his [BLEEP] out there.
I think Dobbs getting some reps so Minshew doesn't overdo it is a good thing.

He's next on the depth chart if Minshew has to come out and he's had little time to prepare for such an instance.
Contain that little white dude and we win the game.
Ramsey on CMC sounds like a good idea, but it probably isn't. It would likely put Hayden on the bench and put Herndon on the outside, since they seem to be adamant at keeping Hayden at NB. Furthermore, they'll just run it at Ramsey if he is in the box, and those same quick passes that were destroying Herndon by the Broncos will now be used by the Panthers with a better duo of WRs.

This is a week that Jack needs to step up. He is the big money MLB. MLB's usually take responsibility of the RB. An emphasis on tackling and gang tackling is probably being preached this week. When CMC gets the ball we need to see 3-4 Jags there show up immediately with the rest of the D showing up in support within seconds. Gameplan: CONTAIN CMC.

That Panthers offense would be pretty fun to watch if they had MVP Cam Newton back there. With so much attention on CMC, they could spread out the D pretty easily and allow Cam to run wild. Thankfully, Cam is pretty broken lol.
I usually don't like making predictions, but to me on paper this looks like a "pick 'em" game.

  1. Both teams have stout defenses.
  2. Both teams have a potentially good running game (I use that word because the stats are a bit skewed from our last game).
  3. As far as the passing game, refer to #1.

As I see it right now a special teams or defensive score might be the difference.  I won't predict a winner or a score but I do see a low scoring slug-fest.  Should be a good game.
If we can keep CMC to under ~140 total yards, I think we have a good shot to win. However, I am a little nervous about the speed of Moore/Samuel burning us deep for a TD.

I'm predicting a 13-10 win for us.
I don’t want to be that guy, but this feels like it could be a loss. I don’t know why.. Maybe I don’t want to get my hopes up. I’m concerned about our run defense.
We need sacksonville.

Lol how much of an indictment on Jack is it that people are saying to shadow CMC with Ramsey full time and our top 3 paid linebacker didn't get mentioned until this.
I think this is a game where the defense may not hold them below 20 points due to the number of explosive plays allowed.
Just based on some match-ups and the anticipated amount of zone coverage.

That said, Flip will need to pull a few new cards from his sleeve IMO to stay successful through the air. The panthers secondary ranks highly in pass defense but they do give up 57% of third down pass attempts, so you can move the chains against them. I just think it may require a few things we haven't put on tape yet to stay ahead of them.

If Ramsey doesn’t play, this is the most likely scenario.
