I'd be cool with that. Declare him rookie of the year now, and rename it Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week Who Isn't Minshew.

You're allowed to be very, very wrong.

As are you.  But you always pretend not to be.

Didnt realize he was talking about the first half of the season. Mayfield didnt even start till like week 3 I think.  Still set the TD record for a rookie
Through the first 7 games actually playing, Mayfield has about 70 more passing yards, about 80 yards less rushing, the same number of TDs with 5 more ints than Minshew. Also Mayfield's QB rating was 83.6 vs Minchew's 95.7.

Mayfield was not better at this point in his career without a doubt.
I'm curious .....Do some of the members here just enjoy not discussing .....but arguing about every dang thing.
I mean com'on man .... GMII doesn't deserve RoW honor?
Seriously?

Ok then, I didnt look deep into the stats.  I stand corrected, Minshew is having one of the best seasons for a rookie WB and I'm glad hes on our team.

He said rookie QBs.  You dont think Mayfield had a better year last year than Minshew is this year?  Hes not better this year but he had a better rookie year

We won't know until the year's through but if you extrapolate, you can certainly make the case for one or the other. Mayfield in 14 games might have a couple hundred more passing yards in 34 more attempts then Minshew in his rookie year and probably more TDs but Minshew would probably end up with fewer INTs. Circumstances are different, the players are different, the teams are different.  Also Minshew may not get to 14 starts if Foles comes back.

I’ve already moved on to week 8, but I’ll take Minshew over Baker.

I am legitimately curious if you’re actually a Jaguars fan. You mercilessly knocked Fournette all offseason saying Jordan Howard is better and now we have a guy win 5/7 ROW awards and it’s “not really deserved”

I said a lot of RB were better than Fournette, but I did not say Howard was one of them. You must be confusing me with someone else. And even if I had, why would I change my opinion based on 3 good games compared to 3 previous seasons?

And I only said that this rookie of the week was not deserved for Minshew, not the previous ones. Y'all are terrible at this.

It's hard to keep straight what your reason for bashing X Jaguars player was when every post you make has to be part of the consideration.

So you are saying one sack and a few tackles outweighs 300 yards of offense, clutch play in the 4th quarter, a TD, no INTs, and a road win?

I don't get it.

True. I am often wrong or misguided on many things but this isn't one of them. Maybe you should put down the pipe, go outside and get some fresh air. I think your brain is starving for O2.
Lol is this still a thread?

You're simply tattling on yourself by saying you didn't watch the games.
Is it too early to give him another one?

You're talking about Gardner BLEEPING Minshew.

[BLEEP] no.

Is too early to give him the RoY?
Looks like minshew mania is back. This kid is going to be a good qb. Foles might start this year but minshew should be able to beat him out in the off season as the jags starter next year.
He gonna win it again
Looks like it will be 6 of 8 weeks!
You guys are just major homers. Jeffrey Simmons had THREE tackles today, he should get it but Jacksonville is just too big of a media darling
