Well I might as well get this started. Lakers off to a great start, Lebron looked like he was trying on D for the first 9 games, started slacking again this last one, we will have to see how that turns out over the season. Dwight playing solid again, we will see if he stays in his lane.
*Indulging in rant* I am tried about hearing NBA players saying they need 'more nights off.' I have yet to see any convincing data this reduces injuries and my background (medical) makes me believe it is more likely to cause it than a continuous grind. You tend to get hurt more when you weekend warrior a marathon after taking a week off. Also from a slowly getting older standpoint, these players just seem like slackers. Like MJ said 'your paid to play 82 games.' Seriously, if they can't get it up for 82 times a year maybe they don't belong in the NBA.
Now that that is done. I kind of hate the Clippers. Well not the Clippers, just Kawhi. He lead on Toronto and LA, and the guy strikes me as a diva (a very quiet one, but still). I don't like all the behind the scenes maneuvering, and manipulating. This guy is like KD, a snake in the grass, who I also no longer like. I guess this is the point where I point out guys who are doing it right. The first one that comes to mind is Dame Lilliard. And for all the slack he gets for his D, at least Hardin shows up every night. Maybe thats taking it too far, I will just stick with Dame.
And on the Magic, we suck again! Just in time for Lamelo Ball! ...Who is not looking so hot in the NBL. Don't get me wrong, the kid has great instincts, but he has shooting percentages just as bad or worse then Lonzos, and against worse competition. I get the whole potential thing, and I am a fan, but this guy looks more like Rubio or Lonzo than the next game-changing guard to me. Hes got flashes, but thats all it is. Maybe the consistency will come with time, but I would prefer someone who is better right now. All that said, I like Ball in the family, so by that extension I like him. On that show, its definitely entertainment, maybe not quite quality entertainment, and perhaps its the kind of thing you don't admit to watching, but for the price, its excellent.
Anyway thats all I got for now.
