NBA 19-20 Thread ****OFFFIICCCCIAAAAALALALALALLLL*****

Well I might as well get this started. Lakers off to a great start, Lebron looked like he was trying on D for the first 9 games, started slacking again this last one, we will have to see how that turns out over the season. Dwight playing solid again, we will see if he stays in his lane.

*Indulging in rant* I am tried about hearing NBA players saying they need 'more nights off.' I have yet to see any convincing data this reduces injuries and my background (medical) makes me believe it is more likely to cause it than a continuous grind. You tend to get hurt more when you weekend warrior a marathon after taking a week off. Also from a slowly getting older standpoint, these players just seem like slackers. Like MJ said 'your paid to play 82 games.' Seriously, if they can't get it up for 82 times a year maybe they don't belong in the NBA.

Now that that is done. I kind of hate the Clippers. Well not the Clippers, just Kawhi. He lead on Toronto and LA, and the guy strikes me as a diva (a very quiet one, but still). I don't like all the behind the scenes maneuvering, and manipulating. This guy is like KD, a snake in the grass, who I also no longer like. I guess this is the point where I point out guys who are doing it right. The first one that comes to mind is Dame Lilliard. And for all the slack he gets for his D, at least Hardin shows up every night. Maybe thats taking it too far, I will just stick with Dame.

And on the Magic, we suck again! Just in time for Lamelo Ball! ...Who is not looking so hot in the NBL. Don't get me wrong, the kid has great instincts, but he has shooting percentages just as bad or worse then Lonzos, and against worse competition. I get the whole potential thing, and I am a fan, but this guy looks more like Rubio or Lonzo than the next game-changing guard to me. Hes got flashes, but thats all it is. Maybe the consistency will come with time, but I would prefer someone who is better right now. All that said, I like Ball in the family, so by that extension I like him. On that show, its definitely entertainment, maybe not quite quality entertainment, and perhaps its the kind of thing you don't admit to watching, but for the price, its excellent.

Anyway thats all I got for now.

The Magic are like the Jags. Very good early start to the franchise but a lot of suck in the past decade.

I’m living it right now. I know there is a lot of hate for laker nation but it has been a turbulent decade. Seeing Bron and Brow is fun but it’s also interesting to see Howard come back with some force after the way he left the franchise.

I can’t imagine what this team would look like if they would have gotten Leonard. Good lord that would have bad for the rest of the league

It's funny that they fired Vogel and now he's owning the Association.

It really makes me wonder about the Magic. Our last couple of coaches have been good (including our current guy Clifford) but we are never more than a 10-8th seed kind of team. Just not enough talent. Of course we also trade our guys before they become all stars, so thats an issue too.

At least we didn't completely get burned on the whole Fultz trade. The guy is looking like a solid role player who can't shoot, but I can live with that for the low 1st we gave up.

I am glad they didn't, will allow them to make a better team about brow and bron. Also on Dwights reemgerance, I am actually rooting for him at this point. His fall from grace was so bad after forcing his way off the magic that I don't have the same apathy towards him that I do against a guy like Shaq, who definitely would have brought us rings if he stayed.

And kawhi showing once again the diva side. Idk maybe I am too harsh but I am rooting against the guy now.

Lakers are for real, magic are not, but I think we will get the 8th seed again. This Magic team is exactly what I feared they would be when we resigned everyone last summer. 8th seed looks like as good as they get.

If you magic fans think you have it bad, imagine being a knicks fan like me. Jaguars, Knicks, Mets. I must love pain.

I thought it was bad being a FLST/Jag fan but you may have topped me. The Knicks just do not catch a break. They thought they were going to get Durant and maybe Zion but then end up with neither and no super max player in sight. I heard a few rumblings about them maybe having  a shot at Giannis if Milwaukee doesn’t make a deep run but I wouldn’t put my money on it.

Ive had enough sad news about my football teams. NBA tonight for me... Going to be a great game. Lakers and bucks are on a collision course that could very well be the finals match up.

Even though I like LeBron, the dark side of me (that roots against the Lakers) is kind of rooting that the season is cancelled.

Return July 31st in Orlando, looks like there will be a limited regular season with a possible play in tournament. Magic currently on the bubble in the 8th seed. I bet they will do well tho.
