Let's be real, Khan hasn't been a bad owner except being a bit too patient. He's spent money and made moves to put football people in charge and then left them alone. We could do a lot worse.

Let's be real, Khan hasn't been a bad owner except being a bit too patient. He's spent money and made moves to put football people in charge and then left them alone. We could do a lot worse.

All the more reason he says "Fine. My son will do it" since those options have failed him.

What other role would Khan Jr. have here? Tom's job? I don't know. Just cynical at this point.

I wouldn't have a problem with Tony making all the selections, or rather having a good analytic model make them.

The Jaguars problem, like so many teams, is they either can't recognize talent, or ignore it way too often. If he can come up with a good statistical model to quantify talent for football that's probably better than letting someone like Caldwell make selections based mostly on filling roster slots.

I hope the person taking over gets us out of the 1950 football era.  If not, I fully expect  our present coaches to outfit our players in leather helmets.

Yep, it's been bad. I'm not sure that is on the owner though, owning a sports franchise isn't like owning a lawn care service where the owner can pitch in and cut some grass to make things work. He's got to put people in place and trust them to build it right. And like I said, it's not like he's doing it on the cheap like the Bengals and Raiders or he's a micro-manager like Jerry or Danny, he's (we've) had some strange outcomes on what should've been positive actions. The Bradley hire, the Joke selection, the DFJ and Jalen situations...all pretty good up front that turned out terrible. It's almost like we really are cursed, anything we try looks good up front and then turns to [BLEEP].

Would you not agree that being capable of putting the right people in class and forming a plan as a critical part of good ownership? There's no doubt he's willing to spend the money. 

For instance, the plan to undergo a massive rebuild with a rookie GM and HC combo was an extremely poor plan, as was the idea to bring a militant former coach like Coughlin in to baby sit everyone....and the next bad plan would be keeping Caldwell and Marrone another year. 

All of those bad decisions are a direct result of Khan hires

Would you not agree that Caldwell and Bradley were both highly desired at the time of their hire? That the idea of Coughlin, who built the franchise once and won at the highest levels, as a direction setter would bring valuable experience to the front office? I think Caldwell should stay but a clean sweep wouldn't cause me to lose any sleep.

To be fair Fowler was a terrible pick and he's still never lived up to his draft position. That's what need based drafting gets you, though. So I'd say it wasn't good up front in his case.

b. BAP picks are the rarest of mammals in the draft forest - every pick is a combination of value and need and true BAP picks are as rare as a pygmy, albino, snow leopard. They almost never occur.
