This isn't a bad strategy.

You start Foles and go somewhere between 0-16 and 2-14 putting the Jags in prime position to have the number 1 draft pick in 2021.  You trade away Minshew, the only hope for getting 4-6 wins, you demoralize the fan base, the fans stop coming and Khan is primed to move more games to London, starting with 2 back to back games in 2021.

It's really the only logic behind keeping DC/DM - guaranteed losing seasons one after another.  If Khan brought in some new blood they could screw things up and start developing a winning culture.  Can't have that.

No.  We don't have a clean sweep with a new, proven winner at HC.

No doubt. In fact, does anyone *not* like him? But Marrone will presumably have final say on who the starter is. Now.

I'm sure Doug feels like he's *finally* the actual head coach.
The thing that concerns me most about this situation is if this 'win-now' mentality leads to us making more bad decisions that will affect the future. I really hope they don't try and squeeze every penny out of the cap trying to fill the holes on the roster, only for us to end up with a bunch more underwhelming FAs on difficult contracts, and the same bad team.

Free agency will be revealing this year.
This franchise, under both owners, has never had the guts to clean house and start fresh.

That's why I expect nothing different from the past. We'll limp along as usual, continuing to try to pin it on the person we like least, while ignoring the value a completely fresh start would have afforded us.

It will reveal that the struggles we saw on defense this year will potentially escalate into something worse in 2020.

Dareus, Bouye & Campbell are all potential losses in a few months. Ngakoue's contract situation doesn't help neither.

The lack of depth at linebacker is concerning. Even with a healthy Jack and Williams in the line up. It's still a concern.

They will have to figure out a way to bolster the middle of the defense in March and April for sure.

My whole thing is Todd Wash. Is he going or staying? I get that it's hard to secure new hires with this being the make or break year coming up with Marrone.

But there needs to be some kind of change made or several changes made on the defensive side of this coaching staff.
