The following is my Annual 3 Round Mock Draft.   No trades are included   This is based on what I think the most likely selections will be, not necessarily what I would do if making the selection. Even though some needs weren't filled,  I tried not to reach for players when making the projections.   For now,  I'm not dropping Gareon Conley.  That could change based on what transpires leading up to the draft and during the draft.    Any input is welcome.

Fournette and Lamp would be a dream come true.
Quote:Fournette and Lamp would be a dream come true.

This was situations in which need and perceived value met.  It was much easier making those 2 Jaguars projections than the vast majority of the rest of the 3 Round Mock Draft.
Moton or Siragusa over Butt would be truly dreamy

If the Jaguars take Forrest Lamp or Dan Feeney in Round 2,  who would be your preference in Round 3 based on the players I think will be available based on the rest of the 3 Round Mock Draft?  I can envision both Lamp and Taylor Moton being taken by the Jaguars if the team brass believes he can be the answer at RT.  Some teams see him more as a Guard.

Though I projected Jake Butt to be the Jaguars 3rd Round pick,  it wouldn't surprise me if Tom Coughlin went with Adam Shaheen because of the upside factor.  I think a goal for Coughlin is to get a starting caliber TE that has potential to be an asset as an in-line blocker.
If the draft fell that way for the Jags in the first few rounds, I'd say we had a successful first couple of days.

 I totally agree.

My hunch is that the Jaguars plan is to put in place the pieces for a strong running game.  That will help compliment the Defensive upgrades from this off-season and in recent years.

I like these positional selections. They address the offense as needed.

Though it's extremely hard to accomplish everything in a single draft,  if these 3 positions are addressed in an effective way,   the days of picking in or near the top 5 should be over for the Jaguars for a long time.   That much more with the foundation the team already has on Defense.

I'd be happy with just Fournette//Lamp//Moton

You get your RB/RT/RG to jump start your power run O transition.

If they feel like Lamp could handle RT then Siragusa at RG works too...both Siragusa and Moton were both available after Butt in the 3rd in your mock.

Just to play even further with your mock...IF they were able to trade to the 12th for extra 2nd my dream scenario would be...

12.) OJ Howard - TE - Alabama

35.) Forrest Lamp - OT/OG - W. Kentucky

52.) Dion Dawkins - OT/OG - Temple

68.) D'Onta Foreman - RB - Texas
My dream scenario would be anything that doesnt involve Fournette and anything that involves anyone else.

did you really need to quote the entire 3 rounds to say that?  Quit wasting toner.

The strategy you mentioned could pay major dividends for the Jaguars.   A huge key though would be getting good enough all around TE play if the position isn't addressed in the top 3 Rounds.

Because this is a deep RB crop,  the Jaguars certainly have the flexibility to go in another direction at pick # 4.   If the team doesn't get a good enough trade offer,  the question then becomes is there a player at another position the Jaguars brass would feel comfortable enough with that can provide enough value in that draft spot?

At least on paper,  that would shape up as an impressive draft.

The reason I didn't project O.J. Howard earlier is I couldn't find a spot for him with the current draft order,  compared to other options for teams.   I wouldn't be surprised at all if Howard went in the top 10,  once trades start happening.

I mean I couldn't justify drafting Howard at #4 either but that's solely because a TE hasn't ever been drafted that early, I still don't like the idea of them drafting Fournette at #4. Tbh I don't really like any of the options at #4 based on what we already have on the team. Only person I could really say is justified at that spot is Jonathan Allen, although I really think Cook is going to be a much better RB overall than Fournette and would rather have Cook at #4 period.

Based on how you view the draft,  there's no question the Jaguars should make a strong effort to trade down.   IMO,  the Jaguars should be able to get at least additional 2nd and 4th Round picks  ( or the equivalent ) in this year's draft and still be able to land Dalvin Cook.
I don't see Lamp lasting to round two.
