Quote:On the bright side, football has no bearing on each of our lives. So It's all really just irrelevant.
Are you serious? From early September to early February and again from early March to late April, football is on my brain a lot. To say football is irrelevant, you must be less of a fan than some other people on here.
Quote:Good lord...shut up with this already. We had this argument like 2 weeks ago. Give it up. Most people consider him a rookie as he hadn't played a snap in the league before this year, nor even suited up for an actual practice (that was a walkthrough with a bunch of rookies, most of which weren't even making the team).
If you don't want to call him a rookie fine, but I will and whoever else that wants to will as well. This is his first year playing in the NFL. He has no experience or playing time under his belt until this year. So I'm going to call him a rookie.
Don't get mad at me if I fix quotes to "second-year player" because I will do that every time.
Quote:It is sad that fans don't care about the silver linings less than 48 hours after a loss like that one. I miss the days when people were happy and talking about how good plays were made here and there, no severe injuries were suffered, etc. on the day after a game. My idea was to divert their attention from doom and gloom to seeing the silver linings. My mom gave me that advice after a vet told me my cat has only a few weeks left to live. Yes, all losses hurt, but people are able to think about the bright side if they want to. It is their choice if they don't want to think about Malik Jackson's sack, Allen Robinson's two TDs, our takeaways, and the lack of new injuries on our sideline, among other things..
When your team is 0-3 after what transpired since 2008 and the hope that most Jaguars fans had going into the season, for most fans of the team, the bigger picture is going to overshadow the positives from a game by a wide margin. Once the emotional pain of the loss and overall team situation dissipates to at least some extent, it's easier to feel better about individual and unit positives. At the very least, I don't think that most fans of the Jaguars were ready for a thread on Sunday Evening that featured positives. Maybe if the positives were mentioned in some other threads in the context of being a minor part of the overall negative situation, it would have been better received.

That's rude. You should stop.

By the looks of your signature, you're really really insecure about your fandom. Having to tell everyone why you're an ***Official Jaguars Fan*** is pretty lame.
It's hilarious how you determine if people are more or less of a fan, even though you root for two other NFL teams. That automatically puts you at the bottom of the entire fan base.
On the brightside...
I can't find a brightside. We're losers. 0-3.

JW is on our message board as well. Makes it even worse.

This might be hard for you to do. And I don't mean offense.
But think bigger picture here. Football isn't going to decide whether you eat, die, have a good life, be a great person.
Thus, the bright side is... It's all irrelevant to your well being. Don't stress out because of it. There are plenty of stressors in the world. And stress can lead to so many ailments down the road. Sure... Be mad after a bad loss, but don't let it seep in to your week. Just be happy your job isn't on the line, and that millions of people arent evaluating your work constantly.
We have to change belief into expectation
seems to me he's a rook.....sat out first year (unless he played somewhere and we all missed it) and obviously didn't study the rule book because we're getting rookie mistakes huh?
You argue for the sake of argument...Ms official fan..

The funny thing is that in other sports, if you sit out your first year, you can still win rookie of the year. In the NBA, Blake Griffin missed his entire rookie year and came back the following year to win rookie of the year.
In baseball, you can play as a rookie and as long as you don't play too many games, you can come back the next year and win ROY.
She's just nitpicking to be stubborn.
I'd rather not see the light and just win.
Quote:So people wanted me to post this sooner? Haha
I wanted everyone to think about the good things in the Ravens game instead of "season is over, fire Gus, everyone sucks, etc." because there is no reason to post that crap after we almost won two games. Yes, all losses hurt, but there are no reasons to believe only whether we won or lost matters and that the season is over after just three out of 16 games. None. There is nothing funny about telling me I am wrong just because they are very angry.

Who. Cares. About. Almost. Wins
They mean absolutely nothing. Do they keep track of almost wins in the league? I guess we almost won the SB last year.

She thinks we have had a winning culture since 2013 because of the dance Gus did after a game. Unreal.

I only correct people for one reason: they are wrong. The definition of a rookie in the NFL (the only sports league that matters here) is a player who is in the first year of his first NFL contract. Dante Fowler was a rookie last year because he signed a contract in the spring. If you pay any attention to what the media says or writes about him, you will notice nobody calls him a rookie this year because he is not one. I know a lot of NFL writers state, "Dante Fowler missed his entire rookie season," or something to that effect because it is true. There is no reason for anybody who knows this to call him a rookie.
You can say Fowler is like a rookie. I have seen "essentially a rookie" several times. But just calling him a rookie is not accurate. If you still don't get it, the reason is you all you want to do is believe I am a liar.

The fact that good things happened during losses and we could have won two of those three games matters.

You might be just be Gus.

If you don't think anything good happened during the Ravens game, you did not watch it.
Babble,babble,babble....
