Hefty price, but what FA isnt? And after seeing Erick Flowers get $30m, every deal seems a bargain!

Bob Quinn, the Lions GM, has put a great amount of emphasis / resources on the Lions Offensive Line since become the GM in 2016.  I agree that it's been a mixed bag.  C Frank Ragnow looks like he's going to be amongst the best at his position in the NFL for a long time.  Beyond Ragnow,  there are questions marks in one or more ways.

Good point about the Ereck Flowers deal as a comparison point.   His NFL career has been a roller coaster. Even though Flowers is a better fit at LG than at LT,  giving him around $ 20 million of guaranteed money seems far too risky.  Some players only perform well when they are on a 'prove it contract'.

This is the free agency dilemma. Pay a bit more for the guy you really want or settle for your 3rd/4th choice and more cap friendly.

I really like Ragnow, looks a true mauler and like you say, looks set to be a top player. I liked the TJ Lang pick up from the Packers a few seasons back but that didnt work. O line is such a crucial position and one of my real gripes has been the lack of quality Oline players coming through to the NFL now. Its all spread O's in college.

This seems to be most GMs strategies now, bring in the best 5 guys you can find and hope. If it doesn't work, change one or two and see if that works.

Not sure what to make of Mariotta to Oakland. Cant see him starting, what do Oakland want to do with Carr? Does this mean they arent going for Tua or a QB?
Schobert a Jag. Looks like jack moving outside

5 year/53.75.

12 mil to sign and 22.5 guaranteed. Wow.
22.5 guaranteed is kinda small I feel like.

3 good years of Joe and it’s worth it.

Oh great, Rivers twice a season now.

Not even worried about his dwindling arm and he has a knack for turnovers.

Plus, we're not going to be playing in the West Coast.
Damn Dj reader to bengals. Really wanted him. Jags were heavily in the mix together with denver according to dilla

On to Billings then maybe.
Vic Beasley to T*tans on a 1 year deal. He had a good year when Atlanta went to the SB but been ok since. Prove it deal.

Buckner and Beasley in the South, hope the T's are ready.

Unless the Jags get decent compensation. Seems like a lateral move then. Can’t imagine Dennard is much cheaper either.
Javon Hargrave to the Eagles, damn
Hopefully we can get Michael Pierce
Where do yall think Fowler goes?

I'm thinking Miami, Seattle, or NYJ.
Fowler should take less money to go somewhere with a super stacked dline like the Jags and Rams were. He's going to get massively exposed if he goes somewhere that teams actually try to block him.

I still remember the days when he would:

1) Jump offsides on back-to-back plays

2) Run into the welcoming arms of the OT all while jumping and flailing his arms in the air like the Waterboy trying to block a field goal.

Ahh, those were the days....

I agree, I was hoping DJ Reader but I'd love to have Michael Pierce here. I want us to be able to be as flexible as we can come draft day.

Billings could be a cheaper option, A'Shawn Robinson had a down year but had injuries but could be in play on a cheaper deal as well. But yeah, Pierce would be absolutely priority number 1 for me now.
