Quote:While I understand your sentiment (Henne sucks), I don't really see how Henne can do much worse than Bortles right now. Blake has 7 turnovers and 5 touchdowns in 3 games. Not to mention the 9 sacks that he has and many of them being his own fault. Blake is taking us out of games with his terrible decisions. We're currently 0-3. If he keeps playing like this it will give me a "what is there to lose" attitude with him and want him to be benched. No different than the people calling for Gus to be fired and Marrone to fill in.
If it looks as though Gus is staying to the very end and we lose the next two for obvious Blake issues, I'm all for throwing the rookie in. Allen seems like a smart dude and capable of making all the throws. I already know what Henne can do...no thanks!
Quote:Well said. Gus mentioned after the Chargers game that it looked like Blake was "pressing."
I still feel that Blake is the guy who is going to get the Jaguars to the big dance, but Bortles is in a little bit of a funk right now. I'm hoping this is the week he snaps out of it.
My gut tells me he does and I think a big part of that will be directly attributed to the defense continuing to improve.
My gut could also be telling me I shouldn't have had those carnitas for lunch...we'll see on Sunday either way.

@marcsesslerNFL Jaguars defense not the issue vs. Ravens. The offense is out of sync. Weird seeing Bortles wobble throws he hit as a rookie. Needs coaching.

Some things you can't effectively fix with coaching and you get what you get.

Not with this coaching staff.
Is Bortles the reason why were not seeing enough of hurns and Robinson? Or is it the play calling?
First step is bringing in a new coaching staff. This coaching staff is doing him zero good. Olsen has been regarded as a below average OC his entire career and we're seeing it this year. Had hope last year, but now he's reverting into the [BLEEP] playcaller he was in OAK and before.
He needs a coach that plays to his strenghts and can help iron out his mechanics. The current set of guys clearly are doing neither...the whole dumping it off to Yeldon every other play is getting old.

He's had some success. I did a detailed write-up on Oley before his first season began...
