I'll make my claim now, come at me. But I think by the time draft szn roles around you will be hearing this a lot from the NFL scouts. Draft twitter and the online draftniks will like Garrett a lot more than the NFL, imo. To me he is another Joey Bosa. He will be a fine pass rusher in the NFL and a good player but he is not the second coming of Demarcus Ware or Von Miller. He is slow and while he can bend it's not like Miller and Ware. He is more like Bosa than those two to me. He really beats guys with raw power and while he's fast off the edge it's not blinding speed. In high school he ran the 40 in a whopping 5.08 second. That is slow as hell for an edge rusher especially considering he was about 40 pounds lighter than he is now. I do think he will run faster at the combine but it will be like 4.8 at best. That is Bosa/Spence type speed, not Miller/Ware. Obviously Bosa went third overall so this won't necessarily affect his draft stock, but all the hype about him being a number 1 overall type player I think is wrong.

This being the case, I don't think there is any player worth tanking the season for in this draft, although there are a lot of good players. Unfortunately with Gus Bus at the helm we are guaranteed another top 5 pick so it will be interesting to see what we do with it.

yup, he will suck in the nfl especially if we draft him. pass on him caldwell
3-cone/lateral quickness drills is the more important evaluation for lineman versus the 40 and straight line speed. He also has plenty of speed. He won't be Miller because he's not that fast, but his ball get off is exceptional. Reminds me more of prime Peppers than those two.

Can we draft a head coach?

Dave: Hey Leonard, how you doin man?

Fournette: I'm doing great now! haha

Dave: Are you ready to be a Jaguar?

Fournette: Yes sir, you already know

Dave: That's great, hey I was wondering if you'd be okay with a position change though?

Fournette: What position?

Dave: Head Coach?

Fournette: *Click*

If you want to compare Myles Garrett to a current NFL player, pick someone who participated in all of training camp, played in preseason games, and started regular season games. Joey Bosa has done none of that yet.
Myles Garrett is a stud. Pretty much the only tackle he has ever had trouble against has been Laremy Tunsil. I'm not really sure what you are seeing when you think he isn't fast. He's a great defensive end prospect. That being said, we always seem to get busts in the first round at defensive end so if we do draft him I'll agree with you.
He is an elite prospect in any class.
Garrett has lived up to the hype and will be a top 5 pick.  Him and Derek Barnett are studs.

Absolutely.
He good

Five NFL executives said Myles Garrett will be the best player at Alabama today, not one of the home team players.

His NFL comparison is Jevon Kearse.

Lance Zeirlein ranked Garrett #2 overall as a midseason NFL prospect.

Garrett most likely will be the top non QB taken.

He might even be picked before the first QB.
I hear Jevon Kearse and Julius Peppers comps are pretty good.

The best defensive player today is on Alabama's sideline: Jonathan Allen. Even Myles Garrett is not doing much to stop a freshman quarterback. He did make a couple good plays but they weren't special. Am I missing something?

Peppers is a really good comp for Garrett. Don't think he's twitchy enough for Kearse, though.

Peppers is a good comp. I don't see Bosa at all. He's way quicker off the line and more athletic. He's gotta go top 3.
